siddious
It's not bad if you don't mind first getting on the subway with luggage. Where you traveling to?
Blue Heaven
You will hit a shit ton of traffic on the Van Wyck to JFK if you are on the road between 4-7.
Pete
I'm heading from NYC to JFK to go to Austin. I'm right by Penn, so I don't care about the subway. I plan to leave around 3 for a 6pm flight.
I am Scags
I feel bad that you NY folks have to use those two shitty airports. Granted Kennedy is a little better, much bigger, and if you're flying American or jetBlue you have two nice terminals to use, but I dread having to fly out of them, especially that little closet of an Airport in Flushing. Newark is no picnic all the time either, but its still pretty easy to get in and out of, and if you fly United after security its a breeze. Only issue I have with LGA is the friggin dining options in the terminals.
Pete
Super easy. Hour from subway > LIRR > JFK.
EdMc28
Yeah I'd hop on the LIRR to Jamaica and hop on the air train. If you catch a train where Jay is the first stop from Penn you can prob be in the terminal in a half hour or less.
I am Scags
I guess its the NJ suburbanite in me where I drive everywhere, b/c the idea of lugging suitcases on a subway train sounds so foreign to me. In reality though, that does sound pretty convenient. I just couldn't image doing it.
