Watch the very first teaser trailer for David Twohy's Riddick, debuted by Vin Diesel on his Facebook:

Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick director David Twohy returns to write and direct Riddick. Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction. Universal is releasing Riddick everywhere on September 6th this fall.

Depends who you ask. I'd tell you to judge for yourself, honestly, but as a total Sci-Fi nerd, I love this series. Pitch Black is one of the best Sci-Fi horrors, and while there are a ton of detractors, I really loved the follow-up to it in Chronicles of Riddick. The special effects alone were just awesome.

That may ruin it for you. Both movies certainly have their fair share of what I call Diesel-moments — scenes where he poses and uses a clich? one-liner. That ruins the series for some, but I'm able to look past that flaw for the overall quality and story of both films. I just love the Riddick character.
