Jules
http://google.org/crisismap/2012-sandy This link is a link to specifically made satellite imagery of the devastation caused by superstorm Sandy. Google offers this to provide people a chance to get a better view of the floodings or damage in their own area or the area of people they know. It will be updated as it comes or as new images from users come in, but so far the damage appears horrific. I know, as if we didn't know, but maybe this can help some of your pinpoint locations you are curious about or that you (used to) love. There is a no imagery (yet) of New York City areas. Considering this about places we love and care about, be careful. Images can be very impressive and disheartening. Just scrolling down the Jersey Shoreline is incredible and unbelievable. Just unreal.
NYR2711
Those numbers by LIPA are a joke. The number keeps going up and down, and a lot of times they are saying that their are more people out than what they serve.
