It's been hard to compete with the newborn, so I appreciate the W. First game I got to watch entirely on the TV this season.

I don't know. I heard once that Knoblauch liked orange Gatorade. Hated that biosteel stuff. Decided to sneak that orange gatorade into the biosteel bottles on all the benches for all Edmonton games. Acted like the magic juice from Space Jam and really energized the team to turn their game around.

People are bitching about Blake Wheeler? Oh boy, just put him and Bailey on a line together. The only line those two should be on is the early bird special line at Golden Corral.

Our xGA is 77.6 while our aGA is 85, a significant 7 goal upswing. Our team save % is .902% versus a league average of .898, so it may not be goaltending. We have a Scoring Chances For % of 50.9%, but a High Danger Chances For % of 48.5%, indicating that while we are driving play, we are letting our opponents have the bigger opportunities. We are also not converting our high danger chances as much as the rest of the league, 8.7% for us versus 9.5% for the league. We've been a team that has struggled to play team defense for years under a plethora of different head coaches with relatively the same core and team identity. We are icing almost exactly the same team, and expecting different results. We actually had different, better results when we were healthier. Then we lost Chytil, then Kakko, got back Fox...we just don't have the depth to make up for decent players. We're icing two fourth lines and our D remains unchanged despite being overall poor defenders. It'd be nice to capture lightning in a bottle with Vezina Shesterkin while we are dealing with these injuries. He's good enough while we are at full health, and as long as we're at full health going into the post-season, that's probably good enough.

Same development arc as Cuylle is fine with me, though maybe with a bit more output. Cup of coffee year one. Tangible player year two. Hopefully with a bit more on the scoresheet.

The clock probably runs out next year based on how this post-season goes. Another factor will be what the cap looks like and what holes we need to fill/what options to fill those wholes are. He'll certainly be the first cap casualty when we need space. At least we won't need to clear space for Kakko at this point.

Why would Ottawa do that when Batherson is already outproducing Laf? Why would we do this when we finally found what is working for Laf and with a bit more puck luck, Laf's production increases even more?

He was. I was yelling at the clouds and y'all were too busy because Kakko was stickhandling into the boards. He looks a million times better this year than his previous seasons, 100000%. But he has shown glimpses of playmaking ability and vision, especially last year.

He was doing those things last year. His linemates couldn't finish those chances. At all. Okay, back to my old age home to yell at teenagers for blasting that dang music too loud again.
