  1. Smith blows and he should never play another game for this organization. Skjei was a good kid. He always played hard. I thought his off-season conditioning was garbage. He always stunk the first 25 games to start the season. Better off giving the money to TDA who is elite on the PP. I'm surprised nobody took Staal. He's played well this year and he would have cost nothing. Basically a salary dump. Considering how teams were over paying for players. He would have been a good bargain. Once again Lou showed he's a senile buffoon and was washed up years ago as a GM.

    username checks out.

    also, Lou?

  2. love how no one talks about what JD, Gort, and Quinn know best, that CK is about more than just a return on his recent numbers. he?s the locker room, the alpha to the kids, and blue blood leadership through the rebuild. everyone is fine with the AAV but hates the last 2 years. fuck that, the cap goes up every year & we?re trying to win while Mika and Panarin are in their prime. CK is a central piece in that equation, especially with Mika. put a C on him already and let?s get it done.
  3. Not sure how but got talked into a 311 concert this summer, haven?t seen them since 96? I believe

probably the same year, around ?96, I was with some friends in the french quarter NOLA when 311 was playing. I was drunk and said let?s get in line and just talk our way in. I told the girl at the turnstile that she was beautiful and me and my friends were hoping to be let in. she put wrist bands on us for the pit. I ended up crowd surfing and getting thrown on stage into ?Peanut? who I think was the bass player and I fucked up his riff. but hey it was the girl?s fault who let us in to begin with lol. good times.

  4. -it seems highly likely that there?s been some serious pressure from Shesty?s camp for this to happen especially considering his contract options. he?s reached peak AHL and it?s a tough spot to be expected to improve upon what he?s already done. what if he slumped or got injured?

-any move to head back overseas for the remainder of the year would be another black eye in a recent series of black eyes. Krav definitely wasted time and although it?s a completely different situation there?s plenty of scrutiny to go around with how Lias was handled.

-a month ago the ideal would?ve been to keep Shesty in Hartford for a season, fix the defense in front of him, make a playoff run, and move Georgie around the draft. Hank would transition to a mentor role and finish his career the perfect Ranger minus a cup.

-but it?s January and now we?re sellers. Hank?s not going anywhere so we have to move Georgie or find a reason to tell/show Shesty he?s close but needs a little more time. the window here is small but it lines up well with the trade deadline. Lemieux is out for a few more weeks and we?ve been going with 22 anyway. so we call up Shesty to calm his camp but also throw him in the fire against the Avs right away and perhaps STL and the Islanders next. he?ll see 110-130 shots in his first 3 games alone. all the while working the phones hard for a return on Georgie. if Shesty struggles we send him down and go back to plan A, minus the playoff run.

-the dangers are: Georgie gets traded and then Shesty gets lit up by our swiss cheese defense. in which case we just play more Hank, but still. or there?s little to no return for Georgie mid season so he stays and we work to beef up value, Shesty plays well when he?s in, and we fucking fumble everything trying to keep all 3 focused.

-of course one injury clears up everything. or for all we know Georgie is already gone.

  5. Hank just did an interview on the call up and he sounded kinda defeated. It was kinda sad

additional context from the interview beyond what the clip showed (from Carp/Athletic)

[Hank] was asked if it?s at all disappointing?

?No, like I said, the big change in approach as an organization is not this past week or yesterday or today,? he said. ?It was how we changed the mindset a little bit two years ago. You know, you look at my game. Do I want to win more games? Absolutely. If I break down my game a little more detailed, I think I?m doing pretty good if you compare it to other goalies in the league, if you look at scoring chances against, and how I do that. But if you look at wins, yeah, I would definitely want to have more wins and make a difference.

?Right now there?s two guys next to me. I was in their position 14 to 15 years ago. You get into the league and you get an opportunity to play. You have to support them, and it?s an exciting time for them, for both.?
