I asked him about this and he said it took him about a year to feel grounded after the adjustments in routine/lifestyle. The first 6 months were the most challenging because he had to stay on top of his meds and look out for specific things just in case. He mentioned that it was difficult at times to remember he had to take it easy for a while. He’s a pretty active guy so slowing down was an adjustment.

But yeah, he said a year. To get into the flow of “a new way of living.”

Thanks man, i really appreciate this

Not me, but one of my closest friends had a kidney transplant. His quality of life increased a great deal after the procedure for numerous reasons. Dialysis took a huge toll on his body and he was pretty much fed up with it when he recieved the call. Off the top of my head the most challenging part has been the side effects from the immunosuppressants he has to take. There are also certain physical activities he's had to give up or really dial down (was an avid climber) but he's adapted. Some weight gain and a little hair loss are also things he's learning to manage.  If you have any particular questions you'd like to ask him, I can take it to him and get back to you.

I'm glad to hear you've got a good support system around you (really important) You've got this, dude. Keep us posted.

Thanks! Yea a lifetime of immunosuppressants is definitely not ideal but way better than dealing with the ups and downs from day to dat y that come with a non functioning organ.

I’d be curious to hear about time it took to feel back to their old self pre diagnosis. I know everyones different but it would be great to know if its months or years

  3. Hey all, was wondering if anyone in here has had a major organ transplant as it would be good to speak to someone who’s gone through something I’m about to go through.

Last August I developed blood clots in my liver central vein that essentially killed it with no hope of it recovering. Been managing with a lot of meds and doctors visits since then but It’s looking like I’m moving up the list and can be getting a new liver sometime within the next 6 months

so yea if anyone has gone through something similar I would love to chat about recovery and life after transplant.

I close tomorrow. I'm fucking beat. I slept through periods 1 and 2 of game 6 cause I was packing all of Friday, all of Friday night and movers came Saturday. Movers left at like 3pm and I passed the fuckkkkkkk out.

There have been so many hurdles that have come up along the way of this purchase and the most recent was not being clear to close until Friday. First the condo didn't appraise at value, it actually appraised 45k under value, which...is...just...fuck off. It's worth the price we agreed on, but my neighborhood is weird: half a mile one way is not desirable, everything to going to the other side is very desirable. The comparable units on the appraisal were all over the place - 210k, 140k, 200k, 167k, etc. and it ended up being appraised at 155k...

    Fuck. Off.

The bank ordered another appraisal but this was only last week and May 1st has been my close date for about 4-5 weeks, so we're really up against the clock here. Thankfully the second appraisal came back at value and here's how that convo went:

"Great news, phillyb™ - it appraised at value, but I have some bad news..."

    Of course you do...

"There are enough units delinquent in their HOA fees that we need more money down"

    Of course you do...

I don't want to get into the details, I'm just agreeing to things left and right lol.

Movers were here yesterday and took all my shit from my house onto their truck. It comes to my new place on Tuesday.

Buyers did walkthrough this evening - excellent. We're good.

    Junk hauled away this evening.

Sleeping on an air mattress with my gf, three cats, and dog this evening.

Need to move to Chicago lol.

I'm here banging my head against the wall trying to find a non shoebox 2br for around 1.2

Having a great season, but that's a long, long contract. Many players have great seasons and then fall off.

That said, dude is lighting shit on fire haha

No way your still doubting Tage the Terror. Eat your crow and move on!

Also saying this happens a lot is laugh our loud funny. We see 60 goal 120 point seasons all the time i guess
