I'd need to look at broader data to support it, but I'm not sure they're giving the Rangers a ton of value. They're fine, but other clubs are probably getting more from their third lines.

I don't know, they seem to give other teams issues in the offensive zone. They are making chances for themselves, a lot of them, but are having issues in finishing, whether its good goaltending or blocked shots or shots going wide, but they are still producing chances. I would like to see maybe Kakko moved off that line for a talented veteran player to help maybe get their game going a little more, but they always seem to be in the offensive zone. I think they need to shoot more.

No for something that isn't a guarantee. I mentioned Chychrun. I'd have been willing to have a conversation there, but I just don't see a viable name/option to even entertain the idea right now.

I agree, like you said no one is untouchable, but at this point, there isn't anyone who interests me for him. If they can sign him to a good deal, we will have 5 good defensemen with them needing only a steady number 6 defenseman. I like our defense, and when healthy, I would even argue that they are amongst the top defense unit in the league, all 3 pairings being steady and reliable.

  3. No way am I moving Miller. He still has plenty of growth in him. The kid is 23, started playing in the NHL at 20, and he is playing well for a kid that stepped in that early in his career. He has 64 points for a guy that doesn't play the PP at all. Yes he takes some bad penalties, but again, his play outshines that. He is a plus 34 for his career. You don't give up on a kid like this that is this young and still hasn't come close to his prime yet.

We play so fast that we can't get back to our zone to defend!!!! Lame excuse. How quickly we forget Panarin getting ragdolled. I'm not saying I want Reavo back but geez, we have Trouba to answer the bell and that's really it. Playoffs will be interesting.

Maybe bring up Cuylle for the playoffs

You missed a lot. Phil got over thrown, we briefly transitioned into a Texas rangers forum, Phil retook the forum, we now have a hot Ozzy thread and we all have a separate tab open with a “rangers get kane” post ready to go

This must be why it was giving me issues when this site made me sign in again and said could not be found, lol.

Buckle up, we're about to get Kane and then the true negativity will begin.

Lol, Im sure it will. As long as we don't give up too much, to me, it is what it is. Its been like this with this team ever since I was a kid, go out get the star player, everyone complains, and then they lose. Hopefully at some point, they will get it right again.

  7. What's up everyone? it's been a while for me, cut back on the internet for a while, got tired of seeing all the nonsense and negativity(not here, just in general). Finally pulled back out my laptop for something other than paying bills, lol. Gotta back into coming here, missed it.

Well NYR are still in on the JT Miller front now I want to see what happens with Patrick Kane and towns from Chicago

I don’t want Miller. For what we would have to give up and then not be able to re-sign him, it’s not worth it. Hearing he wants $7-8M a year, no thanks.

I honestly think that Fox is still hurt from the injury that sidelined him around the all star break.  Wouldn't be at all surprised to hear he's having some kind of surgery in the next few days.

I think we are going to hear about a lot of guys that are hurt. I think Panarin is hurt, he wasn’t that strong player on the puck like we are used to seeing.

Vatrano is coming off a deal, signed after his lone 20 goal season, that paid him $2.5 per.  How much more would he be entitled to now?  He still hasn't been a top 6 player except for for a brief time with the Rangers, and that wouldn't be his role if he returned.

At the end of the day, we have to fill roster spots, and they can't all be players in the $750K-1.5M range.

    What a comparison:

    Vatrano for 4th round pick.

Copp for 1st, 2nd and significant prospect (Barron).

    Wow.

Rangers only have $13M in cap space this season to sign a second line center, a back up, 6th defenseman (that is reliable), 4th line center. And next year, Miller, Chytil and Laf are up for new deals. Kakko is an RFA this year. They don’t have the cap space to sign guys like Vatrano and Motte and Copp/Strome and still be able to sign everyone else. Vatrano would probably be $3.5-4M. He doesn’t fit.
