The Post’s Larry Brooks Voted into Hockey Hall of Fame

    https://nypost.com/2018/06/01/the-po...-hall-of-fame/
Larry Brooks has been called a lot of things by a lot of people over the decades, but soon he’ll be able to call himself a Hall of Famer.

The longtime hockey scribe at The Post was announced on Friday as this year’s recipient of the Elmer Ferguson Award, bestowed by the Hockey Hall of Fame “in recognition of distinguished members of the newspaper profession whose words have brought honor to journalism and to hockey.”

Best Rangers' beat writer ever. By a country mile. So deserved.

    Larry Brooks in HOF!

    https://nypost.com/2018/06/01/the-po...-hall-of-fame/

I happen to like Larry (at least more than I like Dan Boyle). The coverage in the News and Newsday is so plain vanilla and boring in comparison. The coverage here in MN is boring as well. I also note that I have frequently exchanged emails with him about the Emile Francis Rangers who were so dear to both of us, and he loves to talk about that era. He played a big role in the getting the long overdue retirement of #19 done.
