  1. Yeah that's not even remotely true. They didn't want to pay a 34 year old 8 million. They had the space to do so. They chose not to. It had nothing to do with their goalie. even the Sergachev issue is a misrepresentation. He missed half of the seasons and was underperforming prior to his injury. Two years ago he was one of their best. Last year not so much. Vasilevsky has the most regular season and playoff wins in the NHL from the 16/17 season onwards and won a cup (2 in total) and Conn Smythe since signing his 9.5m cap hit extension. if you look at since his extension kicked in, he is tied with Bobrovsky ( guy that won the last cup) for most playoff wins with 33, has a .921 playoff save %, and has played the second most playoff games over that time while winning that second cup and first Conn Smythe. He's not even remotely overpaid nor is his presence on the team hindering their success in my opinion.
  2. Some of that is true in terms of results, but I think you're misrepresenting a couple of things. They let Stamkos go and signed Guentzel to a 9m per year contract. Letting Stamkos go was a smart decision to give 9m to a younger more well rounded player instead of 8m to a 34 year old. Tampa also brought back McD after trading Sergache. I think the length of his contract was their biggest issue.
  3. Hope all goes well my man. If you need to bs when you're going through treatments my phone is always on
  4. Anything is possible. His shooting percentage was 11.8, tied for the lowest he's had as his in hia first year as a Ranger when he was 23. I have more confidence that his goal total will reflect a bit higher as.his shooting % normalizes a bit more.
  5. I'm not so sold on his goal scoring being a thing of the past. He had 26 last year in a down year. 11 more in a non down year isn't impossible. He's 31, not 36.
  6. Only throwing this in there since I saw a lot of outpouring here for the Gaudreau family but there is a gofund me for the lesser known brother's family. Looks like they had a baby on the way and one young one already. Saw this posted in Spitting Chicklets podcast so I assume it's legit. https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-madeline-and-baby-tripp-after-tragedy?lang=en_US&utm_campaign=fp_sharesheet&utm_content=amp9c&utm_medium=customer&utm_source=copy_link
  7. Didn't Ziby have his first kid during last season? If so, that's a drastic change in his life. I wonder if things normalize a bit more this year He will be fine. Let's say 37 goals, 40 assists. Not elite, but is rather him wake up more in May and June.
  8. I'm not really seeing how this is so bad for the league. I also think plenty of big name players change teams. Eichel, Tkachuk, Panarin, Kane, Ullmark, Subban when he was still good, Stamkos, Karlsson, Jagr, etc. Not EVERY big name needs to be in a big market for this league to succeed and grow. I actually think you have a better argument saying that late games in the league affect the growth more per se than players in smaller markets. It's an east coast moreso league in terms of audience viewing games.
  9. I donate to NPR, Garden of Dreams, Wounded Warrior, and Officer Down memorial.
