  1. Boston has no offensive depth especially when you compare against a team like Florida. After Marchand and Pastrnak (and maybe Debrusk), the dropoff is massive. They're just lucky they didn't need to score a ton of goals to win this series thanks to the Leafs offense choking. Boston's inflated record thanks to all the loser points and elite goaltending is going to become glaringly obvious against Florida. I expect it to be a pretty short series, they might win one game at best.
  2. Injuries to Nylander, Matthews and then Woll at the most crucial of times after stealing 2 games. Some terrible coaching decisions by Keefe. Marner and Tavares combine for only 5 pts. Honestly, it's a miracle that the Leafs even took this series to Game 7 OT. If anything, that's also a reflection of just how weak Boston is and somehow managed to squeak out a win and luck into Round 2 thanks to Rielly napping on that OT winner.
  3. Jesus, you just can't script this stuff. Just brutal.
  4. Would've expected to see Laviolette or Knoblauch as a finalist instead of Brunette, but okay. Either way, it's gonna be Tocchet's trophy.
  5. Edmonton vs Nashville would be boring as fuck. Vancouver needs to close this out tonight.
  6. Damn that's brutal Woll robbed of the shutout with 0.1s left. Regardless, he's completely turned this series on its head. Incredible performance in goal.
  7. Jesus, this is one of the worst performances on a PP I've ever seen in the playoffs, just brutal.
  8. I couldn't recall if the NHL was in the habit of waiting until a round entirely completed before starting the next round.
  9. I've been advocating for a while to go back to the playoff matchups based on 1-8 seeding, if anything just to create more variety in the matchups, and also to allow the top teams to fight it out in the conference finals. But looks like the NHL is dead set on fabricating these divisional "rivalries" so unfortunately it's probably here to stay.
  10. A Sunday start seems a bit premature as there's 3 Game 7s potentially happening. I would've expected a Monday start at the earliest.
