  1. This is the only newer music i have actually enjoyed in a while and even this is a couple of years old.

    Sorry late to this one.

I know I'm showing my age, but you simply can't have ANY metal without......

    [video=youtube;-7rpoZE8X8Y]

of course. you can't go wrong with classic slayer.

some good mentions in this thread-

    Deftones

    Pantera

    The Dillinger Escape Plan

    Sleep

I don't know if any of you listen to torche but they have some really heavy stuff and some oddly poppy stuff too. One of their heavier tunes.

the first time i saw them was at irving plaza and that place was rumbling.

  2. And Storm of Swords gets even fucking weirder.... (850 pgs in)

HOLY FUCK JOFFREY'S DEAD YES YES YES YES YES FUCKIN YES!!!!!!!

Littlefinger saved Sansa? I call all sorts of bullshit here. Barristan Selmy exposing Ser Jorah as one of Varys' spiders? Barristan Selmy in disguise in the service of Danaerys? This is all confusing and going to hell!!!!

lol, i was practically doing cartwheels when i read joffreys death chapter. the end of that book is awesome.

  3. Well I am about 100 pages into the book and one of the biggest riddles might already have been solved. So only people who read to the first chapter with Ser Davos should read further.;)[spoiler=spoiler]The Lord of the sisters tells Ser Davos that it was in deed Ned Stark who fathered a bastard son with the daughter of a fisherman who saved his life. He might be misinformed, so a rest of doubt remains, but still a huge bit of information dropped in a otherwise unimportant sentence. On a different note, loved the beheading of Janos Slynt by Jon, some revenge for Ned finally.

gah i read the tag think you were talking about earlier books.

i'm a dumbass but that's cool, i'll still enjoy reading that.

  4. Ulanov was ATTROCIOUS for the Rangers. I still don't understand how he was a piece in a trade that brought us Bure. In one swing, my least favorite Ranger was the only guy on the roster dealt for my favorite player ever, lol.
    repped.

i used to fantasize about killing him while watching the games. he was soooooo bad.

  5. I always wanted a TV-Series after watching the first Jackson-movie and being a bit unsatidfied by it, but with the success the movies had this ios not happening soon, if ever.

By the way to discuss a possible flaw of the GoT-series compared to the books.

In Episode 9, we see the army of the north cross the Trident and march on to beat Jamie Lannister at Riverrun, while a small detach of "2.000 men" is "sent to their graves" by fighting Tywin's army on the eastern shores of the river. This implies that all remaining northern troops are with Robb and on the western side of the Trident.

I've read this part again in the book and there it says that Robb only takes his cavalry with himself and ALL the Infantry remains with Roose Bolton on the eastern shores, which leads to the northern army divided in two, after Bolton has to retreat. Would be a huge difference in my eyes, from a military standpoint.

they haven't even mentioned roose bolton yet and i'd say he's a pretty significant character. i wondered about that as well.

  6. That's fine for a book, but the impact of Ned's death made for a better TV ending.

Even LotR did not follow the exact timeline of the books, and far more people read that. But I guess Tolkien wasn't bitching lol.

i'm sure if there was a series for lord of the rings they would have stayed more faithful to the books. 10 hours of screen time per book is a lot of time to tell the story.

the script for this pretty much writes itself.

  7. HA! That wasn't even the concern. I'm fine with the nudity (or without), and obviously she's... easy on the eyes, but I just didn't understand what the value of the dialogue really was, or what the whole thing with him stretching afterward, only to hobble again once he left his chambers was all about.

    i didn't mean you specifically.

my gf said it was to show that he wasn't as frail as he played. i dunno, i already knew he was a conniving bastard. definitely seemed pointless.
