Could have scored 200 if he skated harder and shot more pucks.
Why stop at 200...could have scored 400. He is arguably a top 5 Rangers player of all time......yet people are upset he didn't have Gretzky's career.

I don't think so. I think he'll be missed when he's gone. I remember for years the Rangers didn't have guys that stood in front of the net and was a presence there, and fans bitched about it. Now they do, and they bitch about it. Again, he has plenty of faults and should definitely do a little more for this size and skating. But, he deserves plenty of kudos for what he does well. As we know, a lot of players aren't willing to do that all or most of the time.
His # will be retired and hanging from the Garden rafters.... and it should be.

Kreider does as well as his effort lets him. When he is in world-beater mode he's dangerous. When he's in Zib's caddy mode he isn't unless Zib threads the needle on a great pass.
He's going to be out of here this summer barring a great playoff run. Maybe even with a great playoff run.
He will retire a Ranger and his number will be retired.....no doubt about it.

I'd go with Vesey for the reasons already mentioned.

Kreider has to be one of the reason for Zib's suckage. Kreider doesnt do anything offensively. He just skates around and coughs up the puck whenever pressured. Zibby is an island out there with essentially no support.
And dont ask about Wheeler, who usually just starts to enter the offensive zone when Zib and Kreider are exiting the zone after Kreider turns the puck over.
Maybe we should just blow up this team. 3 of our top 6 are awful and should be moved. No way this team can make the playoffs as currently constructed

When they hit the knee, yes. What's your point?
Just trying to get a gauge on what you call predatory. I think you can call any hit on purpose and predatory. The NHL could just ban checking. There are plenty of armature hockey leagues where you are not allowed to check someone off the puck.

I don't mind his POV, but head contact isn't the determining factor on if a hit is predatory.
Are hip checks predatory?

Stay away from the crease and you won't get hit! I miss the days of defensemen clearing the crease when the puck is there. Hell Billy Smith and Ron Hextall used to clear the crease themselves!

Guys who played in the '70's and '80's have to be laughing at this thread.

If winning a cup is the criteria, then we need to take a lot of numbers down! Best Rangers skater the past 20 years (a generation) probably finishes 2nd in all time goal scoring for the team. Trip to cup finals and trip to semi-finals. I think he is deserving.

So does Kreider's jersey get raised to the rafters and the number retired?
Absolutely! Best Rangers forward since the Mess, Graves group. Probably ends up second on all time goals list for the team. Let's hope he gets a cup in the next two years to solidify it.
-
I still think this team is a boarder line playoff team. They may get the first or second WC spot, then who knows. Shesty gets hot and maybe we steal a round or two in the playoffs.

4 points....this is going to be a tough year. In the playoff hunt all season, but not sure we will make it in.

Performed in the playoffs? He didn't show up on the same days everyone else didn't show up. That goal in game 6? Completely unintentional bounce off his pads.
Come on bro. He was terrible just like everyone else.
Remind me how many goals Kreider scored in this series vs Bread, Zibby, Kane? More than the 3 of them combined?

You want to shake the ground under people's feet without killing your cap?
Trade Kreider.
You mean the only star that actually performed in the playoffs and arguably the only one worth more than the money he makes....yea that's a good plan.

The Wandering Miller?
Yes....at best he is an average D-man. We probably can get the same production for less cost next year.

The Rangers are slow so they should trade their fastest and best skating defenseman?
Takes are this morning.
Yea but he's average at best. If we wants to sign for a discount, OK. Bread the same thing, for half the money, sure I'd keep him. Kane is done, and Trouba is OK for less money.
-
The Rangers are an old, slow team. Time for a rebuild. Panarin, Miller, Trouba, Kane all need to go before next season. Devils are younger, faster, and it looks like they have found a top notch goalie, it's their window the next few years.

and rightfully so.
Guy has has had one of the 10 best Ranger careers (time with the Rangers, for example better than Gretzky as a Ranger) over the past half century.

i wouldnt go that far. But if CK wins the cup here, then yes.
CK might be the most underappreciated Ranger of the last 40 years.

The Devils feed off the rush. That's a bad match for us, as we give up opportunities off the rush (statistically among the worst in the league). That's because we spend a lot of time in the offensive zone passing the puck around, and eventually it gets turned over and the other team transitions to a rush the other way.
We need to play north-south, go to the net, and shoot the puck. If we do nicey nice stuff in the offensive zone, we will get hammered by their transition game, and our forwards won't get back fast enough.
So true.....turn the puck over a lot at the blue line - we lose in 5. Learn how to play north/south, get the puck deep and keep it there - we can win this series.
-
Do we have a chance to win against them, sure. But NJ is younger, faster, more physical and more motivated. I can see us losing in 6. To win Shesty will need to steal a couple of games.

At this point I'd rather have Kreider over Trouba. Say what you want about Kreider and low hockey IQ or whatever, but Trouba is mostly a trainwreck and is massively overpaid. By comparison, the Kreider contract is actually much more reasonable.
Agree 100%. Kreider is one of the most underappreciated Rangers over the last 50 years. He is a cup away from having his number retired.

Is it going to kill you to see his number hanging from the rafters as long as the Garden stands? Top 5 NY Ranger all time.
