Dumb question.
So, I'm somewhat new to hockey fandom and was wondering something.
Morgan Barron has the choice to either sign with the team, or become a free agent. What are the pros and cons of each choice? Does one choice promise more money, and the other more security?

Kreider signs.

That would be Joe Thornton! You also forgot he won when the MVP award in 2006 when Jagr should have. No, I'm still not bitter about it at all.
Maybe someone already pointed this out, but...7 hours after this post....
Look, it has been a long, disappointing year filled with growing pains for Kaapo Kakko, whose across-the-board numbers are so bad that you might want to check out first-overall Joe Thornton?s 1997-98 rookie season with the Bruins (three goals, four assists, 8:05 per primarily on the fourth line and two dozen healthy scratches playing for Pat Burns) for solace.https://nypost.com/2020/03/04/the-rangers-must-finally-unleash-kappo-kakko/

Is there a thread yet discussing the 2020 draft -- who we are hoping for, etc?
-
-
It's Hank. Calling it.
-
Keep in mind, we acquired the Keane pick for Nick Holden.
-
forgive me but I'm a newer fan. Shesty was picked 118th overall...was he a late bloomer in terms of performance, or did he fall in the draft for some reason?

Tyler Wall is the future.

"Swagger" is a good term for it...yes! I gotta say that I think Kakko and Lemeiux have worked pretty well together and I see a lot of chemistry between them. Maybe when Mika gets back he can center that line and we may have some more magic there.
I also got a kick out of Lindgren, and Chytil last night. Lindgren is a tough competitor. He gave Malkin a couple of good shots in front of the net all night. I think we may have struck pay dirt with him as well.
Chytil was buzzing all night and even though he didn't light the lamp, he was very noticable.
The kids are coming along, and it's a lot more enjoyable to watch than it has been in quite some time.
I don't wanna get too impatient with the kids, because they're going to progress at their own pace, and there will be drawbacks I'm sure. The thing is that I see this team being a perennial powerhouse 4 years down the road. Guys like Kakko, Chytil, Fox, Lindgren, Buchnevich, should be a very solid building block for years to come. Hopefully we get players like Lias, Howden, Shesterkin, Kravtsov and a couple other to hit that next level sooner than later, and who knows what we can do?

So, I'm very new to hockey and I have a question I'm embarrassed to ask.
Does a RHD play on the left side of the rink, or the right? I'm guessing the left, since his dominant hand will be away from the wall?
Not trolling here, I truly don't know...go easy on me guys

Gotta be Kravtsov, right?
-
who had Staal in the 1st goal thread??

I would love for the Hajek/Fox pair to really take off, and for ADA to take the next step in his development.
-
Hajek 45 points.

i'm sure this has been mentioned before, but I didn't realize it until today:
- Bobby Sanguinetti was traded in 2010 for 2 picks, one of whom we used to take Fast.
- the other pick was traded for Tim Erixon.
- Erixon was part of the trade for Nash.
- Nash was traded for Spooner (who was traded for Strome), Lindgren, and a pick that we used to move up and take K'Andre.
I'm simplifying things of course. But think about that...Sanguinetti (6 total points after the trade) has led us here.

They were Lia's saying he was NHL ready.

Casual fan here. Was Strome a major flop for the Islanders?
