My wife keeps telling me all the time how much she loves Iceland. I didn't know much about it besides the Aurora, but it seems that Iceland is an absolutely outstanding, beautiful country. Jaw-dropping level, really.

This is what is gorgeous about Iceland. The blue lagoon in Reykjavik. Volcanic heated springs that are supposed to be warm, therapeutic, and just overall kick ass. I want to go there asap.

These are beautiful pictures, I love them, but the thing that gets me with pictures like these, is that they are always in the most remote area's, and are hard to visit. I love that waterfall one, but what are the odds of actually finding that if I ever visited Iceland.

Those odds are huge, because all of Iceland is remote. ;)

There are only 320k people in ALL of Iceland, but the country itself is the size of the state of Virginia. I have only done a lay-over in Reykyavik and just the view of that landing and the takeoff convinced me I have to spend more time there one day. Friends who have done so all say the same, it is a must-see country and just taking a 4x4 car into those vast parts of the country is a unique experience.

It's really easy to navigate, there is just one city and that's Reykyavik. Although, by American standards, it's a village. There are 120k in the capital and those other 200k people live in small towns, on ships and at tourist centers. I am sure that finding that waterfall is easy and finding even more beautiful places should be doable as well. In fact, finding this waterfall was as easy as googling "Iceland waterfalls" and just a few hits in it says this place is called Seljalandsfoss. :D

If anyone of you has seen the sci-fi movie Prometheus; that whole opening scene and all the landscapes you see are filmed on location in Iceland. Ah, and everyone who watches Game of Thrones? All of the Jon Snow scenes beyond the wall are filmed in Iceland as well.
