Vodka Drunkenski
Anyone know why my lawn is soft? Yes, yes, I know, that's what she said. Also, what can I do to help my grass look new, and greener next season?
Mentosman42
like the soil is soft and your feet sink in? And I can tell you what to do but unless you have the equipment to do it, its not gonna help ;P This time of year you should be thatching, aerating, seeding, and fertilizing. Vodka Drunkenski
Yes, my feet kind of sink in. Not all that bad but some places are worse than others, especially early in the morning when there's a misty cool air.
josh
Entire lawn soft or just near the house? Sounds like a drainage issue. As for the lawn, get one of those lawn spraying services like chem-lawn.
Mentosman42
Where do you live? Out here we have a lot of clay, some places you dig you hit hard clay within 4 or 5 inches. Clay does not allow water to drain and you have this problem. My brother in law is a landscaper and deals with this quite a bit, unfortunately the solution in digging up the lawn, adding drainage and bringing in topsoil. I have been running equipment for him on and off and a couple weeks ago we were digging up a lawn and ended up bringing in 60 yards of topsoil and ran 4 channels of drain pipe surrounded by gravel under all of the topsoil.
