Niko
I'm on vacation from work next week, but was looking into just going away for a few days to lay on a beach to vege out. Flights are kind of high now, but I was wondering how standby worked. Is it discounted at all? Is it worth it? If I check the airlines before hand and see a half empty flight, does it make sense to drive out to the airport and hope for the best? Any advice is appreciated
Blue Heaven
I think standby is if you have an overbooked flight and someone is willing to get bumped off the flight so the person on standby can get on (Usually the person getting bumped gets airline credit for the inconvenience). If not then the person on standby gets on the next available flight with a seat.
josh
Once. By the time I was at the airport, that had a seat for me. I don't think it really counts.
