deejaid Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Looking at Puckpedia, since Florida also signed Ekblad and Bennett, this signing of Marchand puts them slightly above the cap. They still have no backup goalie under contract and only 12 forwards and 6 defensemen. Who do they now dump to make it work?

I don't think it will be that hard for them to figure it out, but someone, or two, will need to be moved.

They just paid a bunch of guys for what they already did, not what they're going to do. But when you have two cups under your belt, it buys you... Probably close to a decade to get your house in order again.

They could always do a Vegas and LTIR someone like Marchand for the first 2-3 months of the season and accrue cap space by replacing him with a league minimum salary.
