Long live the King Posted November 26 Posted November 26 As it seems we're on the verge of a sell-off, let's play a game. Colorado can't keep the puck out of their net. Georgiev is hot garbage. Rangers need young center depth. So, would you do it: Shesterkin for Georgiev, Calum Ritchie, and a conditional 2024 2nd rounder that becomes a 2025 1st if Colorado makes the Finals.
RJWantsTheCup Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Georgiev is hot garbage. I rather try to go bigger for Shesterkin.
Mistercosmic Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Yes, BUT only if they bring Tony DeAngelo back from Russia on the same day.
RangersIn7 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 I don’t know that I’d make THAT trade involving Igor. But surely there’s a deal out there that I would make for Igor. 1

RichieNextel305 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 No. Just, no. That is horrible for the Rangers. If and when we start making trades, there has to be reason behind it. Not just trading to trade. That package is horrific for Shesterkin. 2

What more do you think you're getting for a UFA goalie than a 1st round pick and a team's best prospect? 1
Ozzy Posted November 26 Posted November 26 No one wants to unload Igor more than me....well, maybe Pete....but I hold on to Igor until the deadline and get everything you can for him. Goalies don't usually get a whole lot back, but he could, i think. Deadline deal at the earliest!

Sharpshooter Posted November 27 Posted November 27 If they wind up dealing a Kreider, and maybe one or two more core pieces, then yes, you might as well trade him.
deejaid Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Trading Igor in-season is the equivalent of “The Letter” part two. Can you imagine the fan reaction to essentially starting another rebuild when everyone had this team as a Stanley Cup contender?

Trade anybody who can bring back quality assets. Be decisive and move quickly, you can't go through this whole season as lame duck deam men walking. The worst possible thing would be to drag this out a year or two, start the retool now. Fox, Laf, Cuylle, Perrault lead the way. 2

They just can’t pay him $12mm. How do you build a roster with that. I would trade him, elevate Quick and bring up Garand. Grand by the way is a starting NHL goalie. Shesty is the best but the guy is 28 and those contract demands aren’t feasible.

Br4d Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Igor needs a trade right now. He either needs a heart transplant for the rest of the team or to get away from players who take him for granted. It's a terrible thing to waste a talent like Igor.
Vodka Drunkenski Posted November 28 Posted November 28 I’d trade him for bunch of picks and prospects. Rebuild around Laf, Cuylle, Schneider, among other up coming players. Oh yea, and Brady Tkachuk 1
RJWantsTheCup Posted November 28 Posted November 28 At this point there’s 2 players I wouldn’t consider trading Cuylle and Schneider. Everyone else I would hear offers for. Sorry to say but Lafraniere is not a franchise player as much as we all hope he will be. We all need to stop drinking the Lafraniere cool aid and realize he’s a good player but not an all star. If I’m in charge someone offers me the right package I move him, Shesterkin, Fox and the whole lot of them.
