This was the best hockey Ovechkin had played in years. He certainly looked to be on track to beating Gretzky’s record this season. This obviously throws a wrench into those plans. But we will see.

 

Also, this:

I couldn’t really remember Ovechkin ever being out injured. And now I know why: because it’s hardly ever happened. Which is impressive, considering the way he’s played over the course of his career. First time really missing significant time due to injury.

Tough Mf'er his whole career.  Love the way he plays the game.  Hopefully he can get back on track, stack up a bunch more goals this season and pass Gretzky some time next season. Kinda looked like a pretty innocent play in that I was surprised it lead to a fracture.
