Goodrow 'Didn't Like' How His New York Departure Was Handled, Excited to Play Rangers on Thursday

I don’t blame him. But business is business. I definitely liked Goodrow here and will continue to hope he finds success. He was a good Ranger. And he obviously had some memorable moments during last years playoffs.

But, yeah. Business is business. I get him being upset for it. Sure just about anyone would be.

I'm absolutely flabbergasted he didn't enjoy being loopholed into a move he didn't want.

That said, it was literally Drury's job to do exactly what he did.

I wasn't expecting him to like how everything went down, but I'm sure he's not surprised he's not a Ranger anymore either way. I'd be bummed if I was going to a contender to a team in rebuild mode. Unfortunately that is sports. I am expecting him to score tonight, but hopefully the Rangers score a few more and it won't matter.

Play better hockey akin to your contract and you don't have these worries/concerns/bad blood feelings.

How cares?  The Jets are a team full of ex rangers and none of them are complaining.

It hurts to see ex Rangers have super success while we sit here and hope our super goalie can carry us.

Incoming "Welcome Back" video!

It'll be a short one, but filled with enough playoff moments that Panarin will shed a tear

Goodrow was phenomenal during the playoff run.

Can't understand how we couldn't make use of him in a third line role all season and going forward. Makes no sense.

Because he was a miserable regular season performer, and because they needed to make better use of his cap. He had four goals in 80 games. Four. And was a minus-13. Just brutal.

Fine but at least the guy showed up when it mattered...the opposite of all the hot shots we've been paying top dollar...

No disagreement there. @Pete and I always use the saying "there are guys who get you there and guys who get you through." Goodrow was a guy who gets you through. Hopefully someone else steps up big time to fill that void come April/May/June.

Lesson 1: You want a no move clause rather than a no trade clause, then negotiate it, and if it's that important to you, take less money to get it.

Lesson 2:  Make yourself valuable enough that a team isn't happy to give you away for free.
