Mdk154 Posted November 13 Posted November 13 I have a feeling I know...but not gonna say. Either way he sucks and the fact that either Jones or Mancini sits while he plays is a pathetic message. 1

RichieNextel305 Posted November 13 Posted November 13 I’m telling you. If Mancini maintains (long way to go there with jury still very much out) and Jones continues to play well, there’s a way Miller can play himself out here. He’s due for money, he’s been playing lousy, the cap is going to be tight as is. I can see that eventually being mentioned as a thing. Not saying it will happen but I definitely can see a way that he can be pried from Drury. 1

He’s most likely Trouba’s replacement next season Edited November 13 by Albatrosss
Ozzy Posted November 13 Posted November 13 (edited) I can understand a young defenseman having trouble adapting. I can also understand that bigger defenseman take a little longer to "get it". I've always given this kid the benefit of the doubt on pretty much everything...Not anymore! Fuck this guy! The one thing that I can't tolerate is when a player gives no effort. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see this kid giving 100%...NOT EVEN CLOSE! That last play where he was laying on the ice, allowing the Jets to just casually stuff in a rebound off the fucking glass was absolutely inexcusable! Edited November 13 by Ozzy

Long live the King Posted November 13 Posted November 13 The defense got worse when Lindgren came back and Miller was repaired with Trouba. 1 1

I believe they should be hiding Lindy-Trouba as the third pair and play them about 15 to 17 minutes a night, assuming they are still trying to be competitive this year. Miller Fox Schneider Mancini Jones isn't the answer. The team can't defend a lick, he doesn't help that...But if there's anyone he's replacing, it should be Lindgren. Edited November 13 by Pete
RJWantsTheCup Posted November 13 Posted November 13 Lindgren is gone after this season any way so why not explore trading him now. Defense has been worse since he’s been back. Rangers seem better off without him. 1

Ozzy Posted November 13 Posted November 13 (edited) Hot takes abound today!!!! LOL I don't know why but I was so aggravated watching that fucking game last night! I'm amazed I still have a working remote and wall with no marks on it from throwing shit! I'm a little better today.... Edited November 13 by Ozzy 1
Mistercosmic Posted November 13 Posted November 13 He's not even a young player anymore. It's Millers fifth season in the NHL and he will be 25 years old in two months. What you see is what you get: too soft for his size, constant errors and brain farts, stuck in his development. If we can get a decent return for him, I would trade Miller without hesitation. 1 1
RJWantsTheCup Posted November 13 Posted November 13 Miller actually played his best hockey in the conference finals against Tampa 3 years ago. The defense is a mess because they don't have the proper shut down LD to pair with Fox that Lindgren use to be. Miller than can play 2nd pair with possibly Schneider. Jones - Mancini is the 3rd pair. Question is how to get that elusive first pair LD and get rid of Trouba? Can you package Trouba, Lindgren & Othmann for a 1st pair LD? Will Trouba waive his no trade even if you can find a team willing to make the trade? Seems to me the Rangers are stuck with what they have. Go back to Miller - Fox, Schneider - Mancini, Jones- Trouba and sit Lindgren for now?
deejaid Posted November 13 Posted November 13 Now, I’m just joking here but….Can Key play center? You always hear how he only started playing defense when he was 15 or 16 and had played forward before that. Maybe they need to play him at forward? And since 93 surely isn’t playing at an NHL level, maybe you start working out Key as a center that can eventually center the 3rd line. Sort of the NHL version of Rick Ankiel. 1
Sod16 Posted November 13 Posted November 13 Young defensemen who start off as physical guys sometimes later develop the finese part of the game, but guys who start out as finese defensemen don't typically develop the physical part of the game later. The stall in his development has been apparent for some time. Last year was a poor one by his own acknowledgement. He had every reason to bear down and come out strongly this year. Didn't happen.

He actually looks worse this year than last year. The bone headed/lazy plays seem more abundant. 1

Didn't happen. his problem is between the ears. He has all the physical attributes to be a great dman in this league, but it's not like he could've picked up bunch of books on defending over the summer. He is who he is

It happens to every coach on this team It sure looks like we're headed for 106 pts and a quick exit from the playoffs. That would kind of put a huge hole in the "it was all GG's fault" and move the needle towards "entitled vets can't win it all". 1
Br4d Posted November 14 Posted November 14 What the Rangers need right now is a heart transplant because the team is just too laid-back. Rempe wasn't the reason the Rangers had a much better record with him dressed than not but he sure did add heart to the team. 1
