I guess anything is possible ..on 2 conditions that he improves offensively and stops taking fights….unless the fight is absolutely warranted then yes otherwise skate away… Rempe clearly had an impact on the team last year …

However although still early this year is different. Edstrom has taken charge and has drastically improved his overall play.. that kid can skate, he handles the puck really well for his height/size, plus he can fight if called upon… I hope at this point the Rangers don’t call Rempe up just for potential games for fights vs the flyers, devils, crapitals… the kid would lose confidence in himself and you don’t want to see that.. he’s young 22 years old he needs more time …IMO

Agreed. Him getting called up for fisticuffs, only to have his ass handed to him all or most of the time, does absolutely nothing for anybody. It affects his confidence, and I don't think the team would really feed off him getting beat. He's only 22, just let him stay down there and marinate. He's a waste of a roster spot right now. If you want someone who can go on the active roster, someone like Edstrom is up to the task. Vesey is back in the lineup now, there's absolutely no where for him to play, and no reason to ever really bring him up this season unless there are injuries.

Everyone seems convinced that he was brought up for the Capitals game as some type of deterrent. I don't necessarily believe that.

Firstly they all knew Washington was on the schedule. So what would be the point of sending him down over the weekend unless it really was for him to get some games under his belt? Secondly I think it was more about putting him in a situation and seeing what he would do, or at least having him on the bench in case somebody on Washington lost their mind again...

But what did he do with that opportunity? He participated in a staged fight that had nothing to do with the game at a critical moment where Washington had all the momentum and lost the fight. Washington scored a few minutes later.

I just don't see a world where they brought him up in order to instigate a fight or get retribution on Wilson, or anything like that.

It was kind of confusing to me that that was the narrative, especially coming from people like Larry Brooks. But then again he seems to think the organization owes him an explanation.

I just do think they brought him up for that game. If they wanted to play him more after that, then he would've remained up here. I do think Wilson is probably still in their heads a bit, but if that was indeed the plan, to call up Rempe for some added edge, then it was a massive overreaction by the organization.

But then why not just keep him up for the Islanders game and Martin/Cizikas/Mayfield?

Maybe after that Washington game they just saw enough for it not to be a good idea? lol I don't know.

Yeah, that's why I'm not so sure about the idea that they brought him up for Washington after spending all last season telling him he doesn't have to fight everyone who wants to fight him.

Could be that they brought him up "just in case" something happened, and nothing happened, except The staged fight from some AHL beef.

Yeah I saw this but I must have attached it wrong… I know someone who penciled in IGOR for council members in certain New Jersey counties! It’s hilarious
