RichieNextel305 Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 EXCELLENT! I had heard that he had reservations about going 8 years because he wouldn’t be eligible for UFA until he’s 31. This will take us until hes 30. And judging from the leaps and bounds he’s made, this will be a steal.
siddious Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 That’s a great number. Besides maybe panarin and Igor been the rangers best player this year.
Keirik Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Omg, that would be a steal within 2 years. Doooooo itttttt 1

They're shaving off around a million bucks with this deal. It's great.
mbob Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Something about Laffy not wanting for UFC. this is great a number indeed! Mika should slide some of his contract over lol

He must be assuming the cap goes up 20m within the next 7 years where the normal for a superstar is closer to 14m rather than 10-11m

Like half a mill per = ~12 mill more in total value? Cant swing that to get the 8th year? I think the no 8th year was probably just Lafreniere and his agent wanting to time his UFA age better.
Scott Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 That's still a lot of Bakers Dozens of donuts!!! Good for him, he's clearly picked his game up to a place I wasn't sure he would ever reach. He should be sure to buy Bread several dinners over this and next season.

Blue Heaven Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Also, think about this contract in another way, Rangers "free" up $500,000 to give to Igor by giving Laf 7 years / $7.45 M
Ozzy Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Fuck Yes!!! Laffy baby!! Donuts for everyone!!!! 2
