LindG1000
Win it for Sam. And "retire his number". He should be up there with the whole lot of Garden legends. 4

Niko
I know a lot of people have been calling for him to retire as he gets up there in age and flubs names from time to time, but it honestly never bothered me. This makes me sad. I was born in 1987. I honestly can not remember anyone else calling the games and I’ve been watching my entire life. long live Sam. 1 1
RichieNextel305
Personally, I hope Bob Wischusen gets a look. I think he is tremendous at PBP for hockey. I’m a Jets fan and love him with football but I think he’s just as good if not better with hockey. I know Kenny is the favorite but Wischusen is also a guy familiar with the local scene and he has done NYR games on MSG before. He called Jagrs 600th. This all seems surreal. Knew it was coming but sucks to see it happening. Literally the soundtrack to the winter. Win it again for Sam!

RJWantsTheCup
By the end of the season he might not remember that he said he’s retiring. But we should win it all for him anyway.

I would be elated with either one, honestly. I'll puke if we wind up with Giannone or something. Edited August 13 by Sharpshooter

Sam has earned the right to go out on his own terms, and if you don't like it mute the TV. That said, if they win, he may keel over. Win it again for Sam! 100% good with either pick, but as someone who's listened to so many Kenny games on the radio over the years, I've been wanting to see him get the call-up for ages. He'd be my preference, but I'd be excited to land Wichusen. Much as I've come to really appreciate his personality, the guy I don't want is Gianonne. 1 1

I’d be half with Kenny as the guy, but I feel like he’s been doing the radio my whole life lol.
Sharpshooter
Kenny would still be good om television, but he just oozes radio guy to me, and I don't think they'd take him off there. Maybe they would if LaGreca wants the gig full time.
SaveByRichter35
There is no way they put Gianonne in there full time. Guy sometimes sounds like he is having a stroke trying to keep up with the pace.

Gianonne need not apply.

Albatrosss
Kenny does it all, just like Sam did. Its Kenny’s job if he wants it.

torontonyr
Bummer news. Knew it would end sometime, but didn't think this soon. This feels like when you realize how old your dog really is and do the math on how long they have left.
