Jdog99 Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 They just need to make a copy of his brain, personality and store it on some hard drive. Then AI can do the coaching. 1
Dunny Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 There's plenty of guys that teach his stuff, or concepts. It's not complicated stuff. Very skating heavy, very positional heavy. We work with one of his disciples, it's really stuff I can teach, with the help of a figure skater. The 2 HOF level goalies he had have incredible edgework. All NHL goalies do, now, but Shesterkin is the McDavid of goalie skating. Neither Hank or Shesterkin were blessed with incredible size, which makes their success so special. It's the clout you can't replace. Scaling back is fine, they just need to put his name on the letterhead. 1

I think it's more the work he does between the ears than between the posts where his value lies. 1
siddious Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 Thanks Rangers.. two kicks in the dick in less than 12 hours
Sharpshooter Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 He's still overseeing the goaltending, so who cares? I'll be worried when he completely retires.
Phil Posted June 3, 2024 Author Posted June 3, 2024 I mean, it matters. He's a staple of the culture. They're looking for a replacement for daily duties which means he's basically looking to hire his successor.
Sharpshooter Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 (edited) Yeah, he was never going to coach forever. He'll still have a say, just grooming the next guy. Plus, we have Shesterkin for the long haul anyway, so we're good for awhile. Edited June 3, 2024 by Sharpshooter

Sharpshooter Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Just now, Phil said: Not yet, we don't. Yeah, it's not necessarily a lock, but I really don't see it happening where he's not here for the foreseeable future.
Phil Posted August 21, 2024 Author Posted August 21, 2024 Brendan Burke is also new AHL goalie coach 1
Sharpshooter Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 No more franchise goalies confirmed. End of an era. Good luck to the new guys.

RangersIn7 Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 When I scale back my duties, I just eat less Mexican food. 1
