Drury Must Deal Fox or Panarin This Summer

Recommended Posts

This isn’t an overreaction. You do not go all in on a season and then have 2 of your life bloods ruin it for your organization.

Panarin is 2 years in a row a horrible playoff performer. And Fox has no intensity. I don’t know if it’s the market. I don’t know if it’s the glare of the playoffs. I don’t know if it’s job description.

But Major change is needed. And this represents it. Adam Fox just played maybe the worst game I’ve ever seen a Ranger play and we still have a period to go. Artemi Panarin has done less than me in this series.

Change is needed. Clock is ticking on Igor. I’m not wasting this like I watched them waste 30. No hard feelings but if you aren’t gonna help the cause, hit the fucking road.

Panarin and both draft busts have to go  along with Miller.

Re-stock the cupboard. Find guys that can actually skate. Stay fresh. Even if it means a step back next year.

Gallant too, but that's a foregone conclusion at this point.

The Rangers’ best prospect Othmann apparently can’t skate either.

He's not an elite skater, no, he's really not even a Grade A prospect, but could be very Perry like, so worth finding out.

I don't even think we're a slow team, we just play like it with the 4,635,742 lateral passes in the NZ and entering the attacking zone.

Keep everyone and run it back, change the coach.

You can't tell me there's not enough talent in that room.

How about shoot the fuckin coach?

Replace him with Hannibal Lechter. That should be good motivation.

This. Fox stays. Too much of a one game overreaction, even though he's soft and slow.

Artemi Panarin is gone this summer. Book it.

Let’s hope so. He’s a great, fun player when shit doesn’t matter, but he’s officially a Rick Nash in the playoffs - probably worse. They don’t need him to win regular season games.

Most of the players do the same thing.  The guys who don't do the same thing are in the bottom 6 or not likely to be retained due to cap issues (Tarasenko.)

I think the Rangers should move heaven and earth to get Panarin to agree to a deal and use the proceeds to bring Tarasenko back.

There's absolutely enough talent in the room. Half the roster is comprised of first round picks.

It's the unrealized talent and potential that's the problem. Coaching matters, and I'll keep saying it... If coaching didn't matter coaches wouldn't make 3 to 5 million a year and they would just have a healthy scratch yelling for line changes during the game. They aren't paying these guys to be cheerleaders.

Stop getting hung up on draft position.  Draft position is a sunk cost at this point three years and more on from the pick.

The high drafts are what they are at this point and luckily for us high draft position doesn't mean squat in terms of AAV.  All of them have the potential to improve enough to justify the pick but at the moment none of them are playing to their pick levels.

However the bright side is that all of them have value on the ice somewhere down the lineup.  They're not zeros they're just not our fantasy unicorn either.

I'm not hung up on draft position. You're saying there's no talent, I'm telling you, you don't get drafted in the first round if you don't have talent. Whether that talent translates to the NHL is a different story, whether you have the work ethic is a different story, and I don't think we have that full story because we haven't had really good coaching.
