Loaded with talent and if they ever get over the first round hump, look out. Well, he does have some significant hardware and Shesterkin doesn't, but it's a fair point. Guys like Acciari and O'Reilly are types of players the Rangers needed. Toronto aced the deadline this year. Those were huge pickups. This is a special win for the Maple Leafs tonight in more ways than one. If the jerseys were reversed and the Leafs had blown that Game 4 third period lead to go down 3-1 in the series we would be calling it a choke, how they weren’t mentally tough, and that b.s. armchair psychobabble. Amazing how perception and narrative makes for great stories to try to explain 3-1 vs 2-2 series that sound dominant or even when the margin is really razor thin. A first round win might not seem like a huge deal to some, but it is to this group, especially if they're able to beat Tampa Bay. They're rolling now, and their confidence will only get better.
