What a brutal call. Toronto should’ve never won this game…

Doesn’t seem that bad based on the replays in the tweet. You see the puck bounce from right pad to left pad, but after that can’t tell where the puck is. Is there a different angle showing the puck still loose rather than in/under his left leg pad? Plus they blew the whistle.

I said before the playoffs the Leafs scared me the most. Loaded with talent and if they ever get over the first round hump, look out. One away from doing just that, and this time feels different after that kind of comeback against an experienced TB franchise.

Crazy comeback. Leafs score at will.

Vasilevski has allowed 3+ in 10 of 11 playoff starts. Shesterkin hasn't allowed 3 since Pittsburgh game 2.

Yet, Vasilevski retains title as best in world, just because.

Well, he does have some significant hardware and Shesterkin doesn't, but it's a fair point.

Guys like Acciari and O'Reilly are types of players the Rangers needed. Toronto aced the deadline this year. Those were huge pickups. This is a special win for the Maple Leafs tonight in more ways than one.

Credit to Leafs for some inspired hockey.

The Lightning have currency because of their 2 cups and SCF appearance.  If the jerseys were reversed and the Leafs had blown that Game 4 third period lead to go down 3-1 in the series we would be calling it a choke, how they weren’t mentally tough, and that b.s. armchair psychobabble.  Amazing how perception and narrative makes for great stories to try to explain 3-1 vs 2-2 series that sound dominant or even  when the margin is really razor thin.

And yes, I am biased and rooting for both the Leafs to advance and the Lightning to be eliminated.

It looks like their balls may have finally dropped and their core is truly coming into their own. A first round win might not seem like a huge deal to some, but it is to this group, especially if they're able to beat Tampa Bay. They're rolling now, and their confidence will only get better.

I really have nothing against Toronto.  However, it would be fucking amazing to see them squander this series again.
