QUOTE(S) TO NOTE:

"I just think sometimes you get into the game where you've seen a team so many times and you understand them systematically, and sometimes you just try and go nose to nose and out-compete them. That's kind of what happened there tonight. Both teams are trying to get as competitive as you could and make it hard on the other team.'"

I'm really looking forward to the fanfare they give Tarasenko tonight!

He spent his whole career with the Blues and won a Cup with them, so I'm thinking it's going to be an emotional night for Tank.  I have him going off for a pair of tallies and an apple to boot!!!

I try not to think about it anymore.

Tank wins us a Cup this year, and I'm forgiving it all!  I can't harbor all this resentment forever!  LOL

Shea Weber had 23 goals and 53 points the previous year. Chris Pronger was carrying a Philadelphia Flyers team. There was a belief that McIlrath could hopefully go down the Shea Weber route while also serving as a built-in enforcer. Big defensemen with slapshots were still staples of NHL powerplays at the time. I don't know why they thought McIlrath was going to be that guy, and it hurts even more that the game completely shifted away from one that McIlrath could ever thrive in.

Was pretty much the same thinking when they drafted Huge Speciman....Didnt work out too well, played 2 NHL games

Right. They're consistent when it comes to picking projects too early and failing at identifying players that will grow with a modern game.

Chance to try different defensive pairing with Trouba out and Lindgren just back.  Figure out your 3 pairings for round 1 of the playoffs.  And pick up 2 points against a team that is playing for pride and proving their worth for next year's roster.

I think you sub mikkola for Trouba and keep harpur and Schneider on 3.

schneider miller would be a fun pair but Harper mikkola not so much.

Something tells me that this is going to be a tough game. Played last night, immediately travel to the Midwest to take on a team that wants to welcome back Taresanko. This will not be a walk in the park. Of course if I'm wrong, I will deny I ever said it.
