LindG1000
There's really only two ways this deal goes - either he is what he's been for the past two seasons and this deal is bang on value wise, or he's got another level and it's a bargain. I'm a fan. These are the deals your second tier players sign to keep you in the race 1

Then after I came home and hit the forum to read about it, I was like..."OK, that's pretty sweet!!". I think you hit it, G Man. That's a pretty good assessment of where we're at with Chytil, and also where he can take it to for us.
Sharpshooter
At least it's one less thing to worry about in the offseason. They got it done, and it's a good deal for both. Nice job, Drury.
CBrowningPI
Perfect. 4 prime years for a center having fun, building his confidence. I think he'll do some more damage in these playoffs then he did last season. Super stoked for Filly.
BlairBettsBlocksEverything
glad he can just go into the playoffs not thinking about his contract. Just go out there and play. His bag is secured. He's gonna light it up for us. Reminder, we are winning the cup this year
Keirik
The 4 years makes this such a good deal. As others have said, it’s easy to see how this can be viewed as a bargain down the road. The talent is there. Eventually he slides up to 2c and you still have Tro as 3c more as the type of player he will become as age starts to catch up. I really don’t see much of a downside of this deal

You know I got all over him the last 2 years and I kinda feel bad I never really cut him any slack. After watching that interview I kinda feel like he's working his ass off to be a better player, and it's starting to really show. You're right though, it looks like Drury has put this together to work a nice little transition down the road a stretch. Fuckin' Drury....he's gotta get some votes for GM of the year!

I really don’t see much of a downside of this deal Because there isn't any. He's being paid very well for what he is, with potential to become what he might yet develop into (at a bargain). To be completely honest, I couldn't give less of a shit what might happen four years from now. That's an eternity away. So much can change between now and then that it makes hypothetical conversations about his next deal just completely irrelevant IMO. 1
Slobberknocker
the take away here is that drury keeps a young asset at a good cost with an updside. this leaves him flexibility to make other moves. well played as far as im concerned.

Rule of thumb is usually $1M per 10 points. Chytil has 42 points on the year, upcoming $4.4M cap hit. Pretty close to current value with upside if he finds a higher gear 1

Slobberknocker
its a good deal. trouba at 2 million less is probably a good deal as well though its not. getting kakko in at 2.1 is a great window as well. he's playing a hell of a hand of cards right now. shit i remember when he was pitching at the LLWS. who'd sign up for that life?
