This seems like an inevitability. His last two seasons have been mired with health issues that were out of his control. Go out on your own terms JT. Amazing career.

Won't matter if he's physically unable to play/keep up. Sucks what he's going through but he's had a solid career.

Just a terrible way to go out for a proud player, and terrific captain. You can’t ask for more from 2 lottery picks than what Toews and Kane did for that organization. I don’t know if many of you remember, but the Blackhawks had no one and I mean NO ONE showing up to the United Center prior to these guys coming aboard. Games were teetering on the edge of being blacked out locally. It was about as grim as an outlook as you can have; especially for an Original Six team in a major market.

 

I would hate for Toews to go out to this way, but it has seemed to be that it’s likely what will eventually happen. I don’t know if it’s because us and the Blackhawks really don’t have a rivalry, but I always loved Toews and Kane. Always respected how they put the entire franchise on their backs. And they both did them proud. It would be sad if Toews sees his sickness force him out.
