I like Brooks idea with Tanner Jeannot. But I don’t know what they would be looking to get back to Nashville for him.

Ideally, I would love to see the Rangers add a 4C who could be relied upon to take a big defensive faceoff. But I’d have to see what was available.

a lot of 4C's can be had>

Bonino, Bjustad, Domi, Acciari, Brassard, Pius Suter can be afforded within cap/retainment. . . also E.Staal possibly but i doubt we want that adventure again.

Our fourth line is great. Let’s be honest here, the lineup is now as good as any in the league. There’s no excuse this year for not going all the way.

And yet it can still easily be upgraded.

get me a center who can also play wing. Is fast and forechecks hard with some physicality. Replace alphabet soup for a playoff run.

Is it too crazy to think that maybe we already have a 4C in Goodrow?  He's a damn good faceoff guy, that can play that role perfectly.  I'd feel pretty confident with him at 4C.

Rangers apparently like him on the wing more than at center per Staple, I believe, so it makes a ton of sense to get another C.

Plus, more than one C on your fourth line is a good thing, like when they used to have Dom Moore. You can use whomever on faceoffs and then immediately switch positions as needed, for example.

That makes sense.  I can dig that!

yup, and for the most part, any 4th line center specifically that is either an older vet hanging on or young lesser skilled player wouldn’t have much of an issue in moving to the wing even if naturally they are a center.  Centers are more versatile like that.

Exactly. I'd be prioritizing a center for exactly this reason. It's why, much as I like Motte, I don't think he's really that great of a solution for what they need. The idea should be to get another Goodrow (at rock bottom pricing).

Just looking at Arizona’s team. I’m wondering if there is a swap to be had. They do have a young guy that I like. Jack McBain. Big, strong, physical center. 3rd rounder but I think he has the size and potential to be a nice little under the radar find. Boston College alumni so he fits in here.  RFA at years end with team control.

Might even be able to squeeze out a pick along with him since Krav is a 1st rounder.

I don't think GG likes him there long-term for some reason.  Every chance he gets, he moves him back to wing fairly quickly.

edit:  saw everyone else answered this!

I've been saying this for months.

They have 4th liners that make up a solid 4th line already. They just use 2 of them in the top 9.

They need a top 9 RW that can flip to center in a pinch.

Vesey- Goodrow- Gauthier is a kick ass 4th line.

Get me Domi .

Heck get me Domi AND Motte.

Yeah, GG apparently likes Goodrow on the wing:

The Rangers have second-round picks this year and next, but that would be a high price to pay for any of the above-mentioned three players. Tyler Motte, a deadline addition last year, would still be of interest but he’s primarily a winger. Goodrow works at center, but the Rangers coaching staff seems to like him better on the wing with the ability to move him around in-game if needed.

I’m with you here. I think they can and probably should go another real top 9 option. Vesey is a nice story, but putting your eggs that basket is very risky. He could revet back to his career standard of play at any moment. We are talking 6 months removed from the guy barely getting a PTO contract from anyone.
