Another fun one between playoff teams - I like how we matchup against the leafs a lot so I'd expect to win here. Deeper up front, on D, and our goalie is better, but always need to find a way to shut down the lethal top six.

Utterly unnecessary post my friend. As far as I’m aware, neither of us are scouts. What exactly was the point of that post? 
if he taps in an important goal or he snipes an important goal, he’s impacting the team. Whether it’s creating space for himself or going to the harder areas of the ice he’s still impacting the team. I’m not sure why you felt the need to call this post out. I tried making a light hearted post.

He is frustrating but I think you’re taking this way too literally. Obviously not every point is exactly the same. But I’m not going to sit there and pick apart every point of a 21 year old, 1st overall or not. He’s struggling but there is a skill set there. Some points obviously are fluff. Some are not. He had some good jump last game. I, hoping for more of the same. Steps forward. 
 

my god, I never thought me saying Laf announces himself tonight to the NHL would be met so critically. Do we not all want that? Just trying to believe in something. It’s the GDT, not the “deep dive analysis on Laf” thread. Lol

Thanks for expanding. I need more than some of the things you’ve suggested in order to say he’s “announced his return to the NHL world”. I hope for all our sakes he accomplishes my version of that statement and not yours

So this is your “ah ha” moment then? Come on. “All around here.”  Where? Because I refused to dismiss his season last year in another thread since you picked apart every goal with time stamps of a 20 year old kid still adjusting to the league? 1st overall or not. He’s still a kid and he’s taking longer than any of us would like. Yet we are here all the same. I was encouraged in his step last game. 

 

I didn’t even suggest anything specific. I simply said “tonight he announces his return to the NHL” in the GDT BEFORE the game where half the stuff we all post is just silly stuff about Sams hair, weird gifs, superstition posts, etc. Likely he does nothing special but we all post silly stuff before the game. Usually I say “tonight we roll” or something like that.  YOU then took my post and added in your own comments while I just deflected because I’m not playing this silly game. Then YOU doubled down again, added in some comment about being a scout, and took two extremes and projected it as if I meant that. Do I really need to clarify that a secondary assist in an EN goal is different than a snipe ??? Seriously?  But to a struggling kid, production does help growth.

Re: bold, yes you said something non-specific and I asked for something more specific to understand what you meant by it. I wanted to know what you’re looking for from Laf tonight to meet the criteria of what you said. Shame on me for wanting to have a pregame conversation in a GDT.
