Or, let Geo play today, Shesty against the Jets on Tuesday, then let Geo have the game against the Fishsticks.

 

Since March 15, the goalies records are not what we've got used to:

 

Shesty (10 games): 5-4-1,  SV% 0.910,  GA/G 2.20

Geo (6 games): 6-0-0,  SV% .916,  GA/G 2.19

 

There might be some increasing Geo's trading value influencing the coaches decision, plus Shesty can use some rest anyway...

Copp adds 2 more assists and after the game he calls Pius Suter a bitch for "having a girls car name", in the post game presser.  He doesn't realize he is saying his name wrong and continually calls him Prius. After doing his 8th shot of Rumplemintz in 38.26 seconds, he throws up on Larry Brooks. He then gets up and says "I work for the queen of England....... bitches".

Because he's a free agent. They'll let him walk. There is no trade value to pump up, unless you think getting a 5th rounder rather than a 6th for his rights is influencing the coach's decision...But, to @Long live the King's point...It's not.

Nobody is going to trade for him  in knowing the Rangers won't qualify him fora contract this summer. He will be a free agent.  

 

With that said. I have no problem with your initial suggestion.  I'd be a little nervous playing Shestyorkin against an Isles team, that would love to run him over and fuck our playoff chances. 

 

I have a suspicion that Shestyorkin may also be a bit worn and could use some rest. He's been a little off since the trade deadline. Only problem with that is, you want your top goalie to play through his funk. Kinda damned if you do, damned if you don't.

 

He's certainly the linchpin pin for the teams success.  It mostly rides on him.

and a game or 2 extra from Geo is meaningless.  He is who he is and the league knows it.  He's a got talent (see the Carolina shutout) and he's a starter not a back up.  A team looking for a starter may trade for his rights, but you're getting a late round pick.

Actually, he's a restricted free agent for couple of days after this year's draft, since he's probably not receiving a qualifying offer from the Rangers. Another thing I've learned since I've started to dig into the NHL deeper.
