Kreider or Shesterkin. There are no other choices.

Trouba is in that mix. This one has a tilt toward guys that do the captain stuff while not wearing a C.

CK20 100%. We wanted a leader and he has stepped up HUGE this year. An abnormal trajectory for someone in the back half of a career but hell.....I love it and he deserves it.

No love for Goodrow?

Honestly a lot of players deserves it this year, it's been an amazing season where basically everyone has given the extra effort needed.

That said, this will go to Kreider or Igor. One is doubling his career-high goals tally while taking on a leadership role. The other having to carry the team by being the best goalie in the league for most of the season. Can't go wrong with any of them.

He'd get my vote. Fast was winning it when there were better offensive players and Lundqvist was in net.

Fast never won the Extra Effort Award. He was a 5x recipient of the Players Player Award which was voted on by his teammates. The winners of the Extra Effort Award have almost exclusively been the top players on the team in the last few years. Since 2015-16 the winners have been Zuccarello(2016 & 2017), Lundqvist (2018), Zibanejad (2019 & 2020), and Fox (2021). Fans have gotten away from voting for the meat and potatoes players that won in the past like Callahan, Prust, Ortmeyer, etc. The Extra Effort Award has effectively become the fan voted MVP.

Good to know. I don't follow these bullshit awards closely enough. Thanks
