Especially before your time is up. Time is undefeated; we know this. But, at 34, he still had plenty of good years left in him. Just sucks.

 

He and Henrik had some pretty memorable games against one another.

So many 1-0, 2-1 battles. It was insane. Excellent goalie who had his career cut short by injuries. The Bruins were able to get a franchise goalie like this by giving up Andrew Raycroft. Not a bad deal.

He's leaving near the top still at age 34.  If he were healthy, he'd stick around to 37, slowly decline, get supplanted by a younger model, and get bought out.  Sort of like someone we know.
