Watching MTV and thinking 🤔 i grew up on listening Metallica, Megadeth, Ozzy, ACDC, judas Priest, and bunch of hair bands like Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Cindarella, and Van Halen and GnR.  I dont see anything resembling these bands in current rock. What would I be listening now? Zach Bryan?

I grew up on the same stuff, my man!  Add in groups a little older too, like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Cream, T-Rex, Led Zeppelin, and Aerosmith...I did get into some of the 90's stuff too, like Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots etc.

...can't really get into any of the new stuff of today.  I'm not really much of a country fan, but at least it still has some good guitar playing in it.

my point is there's nothing outthere that resembles the music we grew up on.  At least I dont know any, nothing is on the radio.

I heard a song by Corrosion of Conformity the other day on MTV and that was the only song that sounded like a normal rock song.  The rest of the bands sounded like noise without any kind of a melody.

It's either the Over the top death metal, or no music Hip Hop, other than country.

I have all my tunes on a memory stick that I pop in and just let it play random....Edgar Winter is on right now....a little Free Ride!

I'm pretty tired of the old classic rock already.  I would listen to it on SiriusXM once in a while but at the same time there's nothing interesting on the radio anymore.  Thank god to country music, i guess.  it's the closest thing to rock'n'roll that we have.

Pretty much....I try to imagine it being the Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker or Skynyrd, but it only works for a short time!  LOL

Even newer country though is changing, lots of hip hop trap beats happening with some guy singing in a country twang......it drives me crazy. "Hick Hop", as my buddy calls it.
