Gravesy
Not really. Anything can happen in a 1 game playoff or single elimination tourney. It's still not a great idea though.
Long live the King
Not when the team that has the pick finishes dead last and they "normally" would have 100% for a top 4 pick. A tournament with teams playing games for other teams picks is not the way to go. Besides, how would the tournament structure be? last place vs 16th last, 2nd last vs 15th last etc? Then the entire bottom 5 is out in round 1 and none of them even picking top 5. This would just help the mediocre teams, not the shitty ones. Colorado didn't trade for the deadlast pick they traded for Ottawa's first, which was lottery protected, two years ago. Ottawa's play determines where that pick falls, whether during the regular season or in a tournament. Don't like it? Don't trade for another teams first round pick. Go after prospects instead. Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc
His argument against picking 1st multiple times in few years are oilers. Oilers who still sucks and still needs help. The lottery is fine. Rangers probably ends up only needing one top 3 pick to be legit again, because they?ve been rebuilding very well. phillyb
I?ve heard a lot the past few days about the lottery and listened to Burke yesterday. I agree with him in that there should be less teams in the lottery.
Albatrosss
teams 10 thru 15 almost have no chance anyway. they're have like 1% chance
phillyb
teams 10 thru 15 almost have no chance anyway. they're have like 1% chance Yes, you're right...but Chicago just went from 12 to 3. These guys missed the playoffs by 6 points. The Rangers missed the playoffs by 20 points. To have these two teams picking back to back in the top three is fucking ridiculous. Why does Chicago deserve the #3 pick?
