4EverRangerFrank Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 He's frustrated by the lack of scoring? WTF! Now I'm mad!! Buch has not met our expectations in any way, shape, or form. The more I think about Kovalev, Zherdev and even Anisimov, I'm beginning to look at Buch with squinted eyes. DAMN!! Buch came in with high expectations. Sure, we were probably overly-optimistic, but that's what we do. On the other hand, where is his sniper shot? Where is the fluid skating and puck dangle? Where is the effort? The more I see of him the more I think that HE thinks he's at the Wollman Rink. Nyet. Nyet, I say. I can't take it any more. :banghead:
Pete Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 These "first round talents" that drop to the 3rd usually do so for a reason

Not sure why peeps had high expectations for him. he was drafted in the 3rd round, its a miracle he even made this far. now Kravtsov, on the other hand, has really high expectation.

He's Russian - they can do magical things, no? He showed us just enough to get us aroused. (That reads weird.) HOPE springs eternal in Rangers land. I pictured him with Zib/Zucc/Kreider/Names/Vesey/ - you name 'em, they were all going to set him up to turn a goal lamp into the Indian Point energy replacement source! Ok, that's far-fetched but you get the idea.
Albatrosss Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 if he can be a second line winger who scores 20goals, I think we all would be happy. I think he projects that much
Gravesy Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 if he can be a second line winger who scores 20goals, I think we all would be happy. I think he projects that much That's certainly not a bad return on a 3rd round pick. I guess the frustrating bit is that he appears to have the tools to be more than that.
Albatrosss Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 I dont think he’s been able to put it all together just yet. This season, as soon as he was getting going, he gor injured which set him back IMO. I think he’ll get close to 20 this year and hit at least 20 next season. Just a gut feeling, of course
4EverRangerFrank Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Beuch needs to add some muscle and bulk up a bit. He got drilled twice on one shift in the Isles game and a bit more mass would have helped his cause. I agree with you that he?s like a doe trying to steady herself. Next year should be a very good indication of what we really have in this player.

Very disappointing.
Scott Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Hoping they get whatever they can for bitch face and move on.
Sod16 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 He made some good plays against the Islanders. But some tantalizing good plays here and there. It's been this way for three years now.
Scott Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 the kid has perhaps the worst body language in the league.
ThirtyONE Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 No idea how to be a pro. I think the Rangers would do well to bring in some actual veterans, not 26 year olds, to help these young guys mature. Patrick Marleau plays a major role in Toronto. Cody McLeod doesn't count either, I'm talking about somebody who has had an actual career.

Gotta trade Hayes because he'll be 31 when we're starting to get good...
ThirtyONE Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Nah. Gotta trade Hayes because he'll be 31 when we're starting to get good... Not really sure what your point is. Hayes and Marleau aren't in the same discussion. Hell, Hayes could use someone to teach him how to be a pro too. Not sure I want that doofus being the guiding light.
Pete Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Hell, Hayes could use someone to teach him how to be a pro too. Not sure I want that doofus being the guiding light.Yea me either. Those guys who get better every year and work on the weak spots in their game to become near P/G players can't be trusted.
ThirtyONE Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Yea me either. Those guys who get better every year and work on the weak spots in their game to become near P/G players can't be trusted. The passive aggressive, making half-arguments thing is tired man. What's your point? You want to keep Hayes?
Pete Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 The passive aggressive, making half-arguments thing is tired man. What's your point? You want to keep Hayes? Well the first post was me agreeing with needing vets using Hayes as an example of people saying we have to trade him because he'll be too "old" when we're competitive in 3 years. Then when you followed up with a kind of baseless knock on how he wouldn't be a good role model, it didn't make alot of sense since he's shown the kind of progress you'd like every player to show, just getting better every year. Sorry I didn't realize only some people are allowed to be sarcastic here. I'll be more carfeful next time. Or, you could just relax.

Phil Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 It's after midnight on a Friday night. Can we not do this song and dance tonight? Thanks in advance.

Dunny Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Just move on, already. He's his own worst enemy. Eyore, Schleprock, whatever the analogy, this isn't a guy I want around this team for the chance he becomes a consistent 20/20 guy which I think his ceiling is.

Puck Head Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 My thought is that after the yard sale we are about to see, Buch is forced up the lineup with more minutes. He?s gonna produce more than now, and only increase his value a year or two from now. Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
Scott Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 He is what he's shown to be now under two different coaches. Eyore - perfect call Dunny.
