Stephen
#HireAV It turns out they found a replacement in Wille Desjardins who went 109-110-28 as a starting HC in Vancouver. Let's see how it plays out for the remainder of the season
Stephen
It also has been said that LA has fired Assistant coach Don Nachbaur was replaced by Marco Sturm, even though he will not join until after the Deutschland Cup to fulfill his coaching duties in Germany NHL Mobile Link http://www.nhl.com/news/john-stevens-fired-as-kings-coach-willie-desjardins-named-replacement/c-301612046
paddynyc
#HireAV Do they have to ask the Rangers for permission and would it cost a draft pick or player as heract is still under contract?
Phil
Yes to permission. No to cost. The latter was done away with by the league a bit ago. Babcock was the last coach who had to be paid for in this way.
Giacomin
It also has been said that LA has fired Assistant coach Don Nachbaur was replaced by Marco Sturm, even though he will not join until after the Deutschland Cup to fulfill his coaching duties in Germany Love the Marco hire, he will be a head coach in this league. Why the NHL has ignored him and the HC of Sweeden (Gronborg) baffles me. Doug Honneger was raving about Marco today on NHL network. Says he brought NHL style to Germany and has great charisma that had the kids buying into his leadership and methods. Talks about how well respected he was in the NHL and wore a letter because of his natural leadership.
