BlairBettsBlocksEverything
Local games aside (no Isles or Devs) which Road games to you like to make a trip out of/where do you plan on going this season? Planning on doing on this year. Went to MTL last season. Ottawa the season before, although in Ottawa I didn't really get to explore the city at all. Thinking about Chicago in Nov. or Nashville in Feb.
phillyb
Holla! Heading to the United Center was atop my list when I moved to Chicago. The fucking anthem. I've never witnessed anything like that. And before witnessing fans scream through the National Anthem, I was on the fence about 1) How cool it might or might not be and 2) What's the point? Chills though. Definitely chills the entire time the anthem was sung. So yeah, come to Chicago and go to UC.

The price difference between seats and the standing room is insane
Parsley
"Back in the day" I'd do games every year in Buffalo. Me and my buddies (many from college live up there) would make a weekend of it. One night do a game and the local bars nearby after, the other night head up to Canada for casino + strip clubs. Always was a blast. We are planning on doing a Sabres/Blackhawks meet up in early 2018 to do something similar. Schedule wise it works for us over Sabres/Rangers match ups. Went last year with I think 5 guys on a Thursday. Stayed at a hotel less than a mile from the stadium, watched the Cowboys Vikings game at this massive sports bar right next door, and then casino for the night. We didn't hit Canada, but you can always add that lol

I've read/heard that if you get there early enough, the views aren't bad, but they fill up quickly.
josh
Is this trip centered around the game, or a trip that includes a game? Game wise, you'll always have Chicago, Detroit (maybe not this year), Toronto and Boston. All O6 plus good cities with stuff to do. Some of my favorite trips were smaller market - Tampa, Carolina, Atlanta - not the biggest cities, and the games were low key but always had good times. Night life might be a bit trickier. I honestly wouldn't recommend Buffalo, but maybe because I've been there too many times. And I really can't stand their fans. They have some complex with rangers fans, worse than liberals after a trump tweet. I'd try Dallas, Colorado or west coast. Ever been to Vegas? Place is great, and now you can even see a game! Colorado is an option though. Basically from january on I can't do weekday games, with possibly fridays being an exception. Buffalo is a shorter trip for me since I'm already upstate so it'd just be a solid road trip. Think I'm gonna end up doing Nashville as my Rangers trip this year. pws85nyr
Did the Western Canada trip a few years ago and drove the route, that was awesome. The Saddledome probably had the best atmosphere, but the drive through the mountains was spectacular. Honestly, I know people hear the word "Buffalo" and shrug it off on first impression, but between downtown Buffalo near the arena and nearby Niagara Falls, Canada, there is plenty of fun to be had for a 2 night visit. It's been about 10 years since I've done it, but I'm looking forward to it this upcoming season. For a several year stretch I remember we unknowingly booked the same hotel (was usually Adams Mark or Hyatt Regency) that the Rangers would stay at on the Sabres trips. Had some pretty interesting run ins with players and staff. Randomly riding the elevator with guys like Lindros, Jagr, Barnaby, to name a few. I remember one time Jagr and Nedved walking around the lobby area lost, not knowing where the team meal was being held. We had walked by a conference room where we had seen them all eating so we pointed them in the right direction. They weren't all too thankful for our help. LOL. 4EverRangerFrank
When in Buffalo you have to try a steak at Chop House. I used to hear Jim Gordon mention it during the broadcasts. No disappointments here.

I had to live in the area for work last fall for a month and when we had time to go out (was working 7 days a week at least 12 hours per day so not too often) it was always a good time. Mostly went to bars around Allentown. unfortunately we couldn't get to a Bills or Sabres game which is what I really wanted to do but oh well I had the same hotel experience as you in Ottawa though. rode the elevator with a few guys, wished them luck. Then while We were having a drink at the hotel bar, all the broadcast crews were down there so I had a few drinks and talked with Rosen and Maloney and Giannone.
