I had to check the date to make sure it was not an April 1 post, as I had never heard of Shipyakov. But maybe he could have quite an impact in a league with more skill. Wonder how he will like it in Waygas? Maybe Putin will come to hang out with him? The 30-year-old forward finished third in the KHL scoring race this season with 76 points on 26 goals and 50 assists in 50 games. The 50 assists were the second most in the league. He also had 19 points on four goals and 15 assists in 17 games during the KHL playoffs, helping SKA Saint Petersburg win the league championship for the second time in his career (2017 and 2015).
Cash or Czech Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 If anyone cares for a scouting report, this from eliteprospects.com Shipachyov is a skilled center with excellent on-ice vision. He skates very well and with a fluid stride. Owns great offensive instincts and likes to have the puck on his stick. Could improve his all-around game. Isn't overly efficient in physical battles. - Ulf Andersson, EP (2013)
Blue Heaven Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 who? Thats a lot of $$$ for a dude that no one has heard of.
Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Had 4 assist against Italy on the line with Panarin last night. I guess with a new franchise and a lot of $$ under the cap they can afford to take the risk.
