The reigning champions have been referred to an independent commission over alleged breaches of a series of financial rules between the 2009-10 and 2017-18 seasons.

City are accused by the Premier League of not providing accurate financial information, “in particular with respect to its revenue (including sponsorship revenue), its related parties and its operating costs”.

The club are also accused of not fully disclosing managerial remuneration for a four-year period. These related to the 2009-10 to 2012-13 seasons, when Roberto Mancini was in charge.

They also stand accused of breaching Premier League rules on profit and sustainability in 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18.

Sheffield United took a 1-0 lead early 2nd half.

Paul Mullin fouled inside the box, scored on the PK.

Paul Mullin fouled again inside the box and the keeper stopped it.

Currently 1-1 in the 76th minute.

Hit 1 on my 2 game parlay with the Mullin  anytime goal, now just need Ball State to cover the -8 tonight.

Christian Atsu, a Ghanaian soccer star who played at a World Cup and in the English Premier League, has been found dead under earthquake rubble in Turkey. He was 31.

Search teams retrieved Atsu's body from the ruins of the building where he lived in Antakya, the Hatay province city that was hit hardest by the 7.8-magnitude quake, which has killed at least 45,000 people in Turkey and Syria.

Atsu had been playing for Hatayspor, a Turkish Super Lig club based in the southeastern city. On Sunday, Feb. 5, mere hours before the earthquake struck, he scored a game-winning goal against Kasimpaşa.

You know........United are in this. I don't they really win but there arill is plenty of the season to go and a quick look shows Manchester United as having the easier schedule compared to Arsenal or City

Hmm......

Man U does have a chance.  Roughly a 4% chance from a model simplifying reality.

In the real world, Man U just needs Arsenal to return to reality (regression to mean, assuming that they have been overperforming this season) and for Man City to be sanctioned (docked points) because of financial violations.  Or for Man City to have a bad run of play.  The hard part is getting both Arsenal and Man City to start taking on water, and for Man U to rack up the points through an easier schedule.  Still a possibility for a Man U title, I'll allow.

Man U is the team I most dislike in the Premier League.  Success breeding contempt, or something along those lines.  I am hardly a fair judge.

Of course, the model looks a lot better for Man U if Arsenal loses 5 games in a row, and Man City loses 4 out of 5.  Reality changes model results awfully quickly, and models don't apologize for bad data or small sample size (reality happening once).

Those models are pretty meaningless to me, especially in a sport like football. Bottom 3 teams fight for their lives to stay up, Arsenal and City still play each other, and a team like City still have big champions league games to play that tire you out midweek.

they don’t even need both teams to go on large losing streaks. They just need both teams to drop points here and there. Both already have recently and neither is in great form. We aren’t talking about a huge collapse needed.

Yeah, I know models are meaningless to you, so I added some caveats in my posts.  Part of being a fan is believing, and you have every right to believe that Man U can win the Premier League this year.  I admitted that it was possible for Man U to win the title.

Part of being an Arsenal fan (lately) is watching other teams win the Premier League.   I enjoyed when Leicester City won the title just because it was a break from Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man U, the usual suspects.  I just saw too many Alex Ferguson celebrations instead of Arsene Wenger celebrations.

One of the highest forms of respect is how much and how many people hate the New York Yankees. I don't hate Man U, but I don't want to see them celebrate anything more this year than a Champions League berth.
