I feel like it would be hard to mess up a mixed beer if guinness is involved. Its such a heavy and strong beer that it might not matter what else its combined with.
Its kinda hard to fit the words, but I hope you understand lol

Yea, as far as that type of light beer goes. Tastes pretty good and doesn't bloat me.

I drink 'em all, mostly the microbrews anyway, but I have a case of Moretti and a case of Troeg's HopBack Amber (very tasty) waiting for the weekend. But what I'm REALLY waiting for is my first batch of homebrew to be ready! Just started doing the homebrewing thing and 2 batches are in the works, one will be ready in 1 1/2 weeks.

I get that, but it has a higher alcohol content. 2 BS55's will give you the same amount of alcohol as one Mich Ultra. I tried the super low cal beers. When you drink an entire 12 pack and don't even catch a buzz, it is problematic.

Homebrew is the best. What kind of set-up do you have? Whatcha making?

My last batch was a Heiffenweizer. I've also done red ales, and wheat beers.

ready to drink in a week in half? Thats awfully quick. The one my dad and his friend do is they make it one day, leave it in the drums to ferment for a week or so, then they bottle it and continue to ferment it in the bottles for another 6 weeks and then its refrigerated and ready to go

Mine is six weeks, with 2 in the jug, 2 in the bottle with primer sugar out of the fridge, and 2 in the fridge to condition

yeah, ones already fermented for 2 weeks and been bottled for over a week. I figure 2 weeks to 'lager' it a bit and i'm tasting the first one. It's a simple beer so not much aging will be required. The other batch just went in 2 days ago, so that won't be ready to bottle for another 2 weeks.

yeah come to think of it that sounds closer to what it was, niagara. He hasnt done it in like 4-5 years so I forgot. I knew there was a 6 week period though. Definitely not a 2 week process

Eh, I guess. BS55 is 4%, Mich Ultra is 6, IIRC. No light beer gets me drunk, really. I mix in gin and tonics or whiskey.

where'd you get those numbers from?

According to this site BS55 is at 2.4, while Mich Ultra is 4.1 (also confirmed by my bottle that I am drinking right now)

Not hating on you for drinking the 55's, thats for sure. I know that I need to lose the gut soon, and i'll be doing the same thing eventually

Edit: After looking at that sight, maybe I will switch to Beck's light: 64 calories and 3.8 ABV

It's just a basic starter kit. But I have a basic Blonde Ale as my first attempt, and an Atomic Altbier as a 2nd batch. I also have the ingredients for a Nut Brown Ale, and a Red Ale after the first 2 are done. I'm psyched!

Haha I hear ya. I'm on the wedding diet LOL. I have a bottle of BS55 here. Says "Alcohol content not more than 3.2 by weight, 4 by volume."

So maybe it is 2.4? Dunno.
