I think or GDTs need more Boo.
It is impressive to see him post 8-21-29 in 36 games as a freshman. Nice size at 6'3" and 200 pounds. I think he will be with us when he feels he is ready and when the organization does as well. We have experience in this area recently with a balance of players joining us after some college Stepan, McDonagh and players who went 3-4 years like Kreider and Hagelin.
I think he goes back for a second year at least to see if he can maintain or increase his contributions. Overall I am really excited for Nieves.
But more then likely he stays next season of course, and at his current improvement pace i'd highly expect him to be playing for team USA at the WJC.
Another year of NCAA and throw in the WJC....would be a great development year.
My "dream" is that he comes out after his sophmore season.
We buyout Richards
Step's just got done with a 67pt season flanked by Nash and Hagelin
And Miller/Kredier are tearing it up on the 2nd line.
Nieves seems like a bigger Hagelin to me.
Blueshirts Brotherhood. We do what we must because we can - for the good of all Rangerkind
Stats show Boo as way more of a playmaker.
I'd like to think of him as a more intelligent Kredier, but not quite the physical skills, (no prospects have those skills)
Just another tremendous pick in the second round. He'll surely make it to the NHL.
Nothing is true, everything is permitted.
But anyway, excellent scouting skills Puck Head! You definitely called this one.
Any updates on his season?

Finished with 29 points in 40 games which included 8 goals and 21 assist's and 18 penalty minutes on the season. Of his 8 goals, 3 were on the PP and 2 of them were game winning goals.
.....I was saying Boo urns.
He disappeared in the last 10 games compared to his first 30. Still a great freshman year for him
http://snyrangersblog.com/prospects/...ce=twitterfeedEarlier today it was announced that Boo Nieves had made the cut and would stick with Team USA at their evaluation camp for the World Juniors.
Team USA has three more games, Finland, Sweden and Canada, this week before wrapping up.
After a positive first game on Sunday, Nieves didn’t have much of an impact in Team USA’s 5-2 win over Finland.
SNY’s Nick Licalzi, who is broadcasting for Team USA, said that Nieves was basically invisible yesterday and had a “relatively quiet and lackluster game.”
At the United States of Hockey, last night, Chris Peters said that Nieves was in and out of visibility and while he has skill and speed that would help, he hasn’t shown it consistently.
While discussing the players who were cut and who are sticking around, Peters said that it was a good decision to keep Nieves and it will be interesting to see how he responds as the camp gets tougher. Peters said that the key for Nieves will be to bring consistency with his offensive game and show off his speed and skill.
I'm only saying this because he's American but I'm not sold on him.
Nigel Dawes ya'll!!!
Except for the speed, the size, and the lack of McNugget love...Yea, they're almost exactly the same...said no one ever.
I'm not worried. He has time and is only 19.
Dude partied hard over the summer. He's not mentally into hockey right now.
