Logan Couture.
Couture has a sick shot, though. Nieves, I'm reading, is more of a play-maker, no?

Nieves has a laser, puts all of his frame behind his shot.
Probably my favorite Rangers prospect right now.
Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

Anyone else love the fact that we're drafting all these speedsters? The organization has taken a huge turn toward pursuing mobility, not size. Whereas we used to draft guys like Jessiman, we've been drafting guys like Hagelin, Kreider, Fasth, Nieves, and Skjei. Even trading for McDonagh, whose biggest asset is probably his skating, was a move toward heightened mobility. Love it, it's what you need in the NHL nowadays. We may lose a bunch of guys next offseason, but we're going to have a fast and pesky team to play against for the next decade regardless.
It's funny you mention speed not size. One of the question marks I had with this pick was his size. He's a big kid, grew fast, got strong - type of kid that was always the biggest, strongest kid growing up. I was worried about how this would translate to playing against guys his size. Doesnt seem to be an issue so far.
Boo has a great work ethic. Rangers are really targeting these types ofplayers. Even a guy like McIlratch is a workhorse. They are getting people that want to play a Callahan-type of hockey. Let's hope it plays out.
Assist tonight for Nieves.
Another assist for Nieves tonight.
2 assists for Nieves tonight. 29 points on the season now.
When is he turning pro? After next year? He's a sophomore now?
Freshman.
Fuck, so he probably got a another 2 years there. Or, 1 year and 1 AHL year.
Probably like Stepan he'll turn pro after his sophomore season, unless Red thinks he's ready and pushes him to go after this year (doubtful).
