Without any facts whatsoever - Im pretty sure that number (11,984 deaths) is waaay higher then the amount of persons killed in norway by a gun in history (exluded WW2). I even think US averages more gun deaths a day than Norway does a year.

Its been killed 12 THOUSAND people in your country just THIS YEAR, and people are still too proud/stubborn to regulate the gun laws. Jesus.

Well considering the fact that the US has like 65x as many people that number makes sense...

And you have no problem accepting this as a justification for that fact?

I think he was simply stating the obvious, that you can’t compare gross numbers of each country.
That being said, the US still has approx 5x the gin deaths per capita than a country like Norway.
But its almost impossible to compare two countries such as this when discussing crime statistics.

I'm fine with getting the US population down to 5.5m. (not by means of unnecessary gun violence)

The liberal caravan to Canada never came to fruition, unfortunately

What? All I'm saying is that raw numbers don't mean anything when the populations are so different. We wouldn't compare South Carolina to the 50 States as a whole, based on total numbers.

If Zuuucccccc referenced gun deaths per capita, population wouldn't come up.

Interesting chart. Curious why there is no mention of percentages related to gang violence.

My bad. It read dismissively to me, which is why I reacted that way.

    That's not apples to apples.

There's collateral damage from gang violence, innocent people caught in crossfire. So, take away the guns, you take away gang members + innocent people dying. (That's obviously oversimplification).

No, I don't know that. Make guns harder to obtain legally and they get incrementally harder to obtain illegally.

It would take like a decade, but there would eventually be a difference, depending on what new gun restrictions there are.

I'm not really sure that would lead to fewer shootings though because, really, there's only like 2-3 per day in the worst cities, and I'm not sure the percentage of gun "owners" would go down so much as to reduce that number.

    Just like drugs right?

If there's money to be made off something illegal in the US, the cartels will truck it across the boarder.

I was just too lazy to do the math. I knew there would be a discussion and some of you would do it

Did you know that in Norway, even cops can't go around with guns? They have to get permission to carry a gun. Still only 1 cop has been killed by a gun here since as long as I can remember, and happens veery rarely the other way around aswell.

And yeah I know the diferences, Im not comparing now, just coming with "fun" facts.

Did you know know that in 2011 Anders Brevik killed, I think, 75 people, most children, is what has to be the worst mass shooting this side of Reinhard Heydrich?
