its a beautiful day here in albany, wore shorts for this first time this year. Everyone knows what that means. Time to hit the links! soon enough
ITS ALMOST TIME!!!! HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
off this whole week coming up. I must get on the course at least once
Shot an 89 yesterday, felt great to be out.
I'm officially a fan of the ghost putters.
Putted with the Ghost Tour Maranello tonight (that they are now calling the TM-880) with the new pure roll insert. It's got a different feel than the agsi+, and I really like it. It also sits dead square if not a hair open at address, which is perfect for me.
May be seeing if I can get a hook up on one of these and see where it goes.
Wish I could hit the ball as well as I am putting right now, never had a putting stroke this solid.
I went to the range this weekend. It was kind of chilly, so my hands were hurting from cold and vibrations, but I was hitting it fairly straight and further than last year (I put on some muscle). So this is exciting and I can't wait to get out there!
Tomorrow I will be playing my first round of golf ever. Tips?????
Since it's your first round, and you are undoubtably going to score high, only one: Have fun. If you really want to get into it hardcore, read and practice Ben Hogan's 5 Lessons. That book, if read and practiced, will get you into an 80s and 90s scorer in literally a season. I'm living proof.
I hit 4-5 good shots that made me feel like I could actually golf... the rest were complete crap but I had a really good time. I don't know why I've put off playing for 15 years.
Cuz you're already bad at other things, why add to it? Did you get the whole round in in under 45 minutes?
It FLIES! Had it out on the range and just straight up jacked a couple. I think it will end up replacing my superdeep.
I'll probably sell the superdeep and with that money pickup the new SF TP 2.0 fairway when it comes out. I've been looking for a solution to my 3w, and since I can't find an r7tp that has the old vista pro 80 in it for a decent price (not paying 2ndswing 170 bucks for one that's beat to hell) I think this will be the club that solves my problems.
Went to dicks with a $20 off of $100 coupon and left with these
the cover feels very very soft, can't wait to get out on the course and try them out
A few rounds under my belt. Went out Sunday, first 9 was shaky and inconsistent, back 9 felt really good. Swing seems to be back. Mostly just a timing, or lining up issue. But seems to be back. I was def pretty excited playing those last few holes.
Its tough, here, with all the snow/rain, the ground is mush. Then, you get to a spot where you think its firm ground, take a full swing, and the ground explodes under you, and you lose a ton of distance.
So... my RAC TP's just weren't soft enough, couldn't get used to the transition from my 300's, so I traded them in for a mint set of these:
Probably one of the softest (and easiest to hit) blades I've ever hit. These have s300's however, and the ones I've hit in the past had rifle 6.0's. I'm a big rifle lover, so I may have to pull the s300's and find a set cheap on ebay, but we'll see. I have yet to consistently game a set of s300's in an iron, but we'll see. Luckily a set of em can be had for under 50 these days.
