    The Android Phone Thread

    Post it all here...

I downloaded Launcher Pro. I like the transitions and flexibility, but I don't like how it takes over the entire phone. Any apps out there that will give me the slick transitions and stuff like that, but still give me the things I like from Sense?

    What'd you get peetie?

I'm using the Inspire atm with sense 2.0 and it's made launcher pro unnecessary so far.

I've had the HTC incredible. Just got bored of the UI.

Rumors out there is that the Incredible is getting stock 2.3 (I think, could be sense 2.0 with 2.3) sometime in quarter 2. Incredible 2 comes out in around 2 weeks

I have joined the ranks of Android and got the Droid X yesterday. Any advice for a newcomer?

Get a Task Manager (not KILLER), and turn off the autosync; it will kill your battery because it's set to update all your google accounts and social networking accounts every constantly.

Got the LG g2x for t-mobile, I use Go Launcher only because I feel there are more options for themes and customization. Also, I'm on the xda.com website forums where they have your specific android phones.

I would go there for nice information on your specific phones. I was taught how to hack my phone and I changed my whole phone layout and operating system which makes my phone run more efficiently.

Yeah, I plan on putting CyanogenMod 7 on my phone once I get accustomed to it and get an SD card.

Peetie, you use Forum Runner, right? I downloaded the free version and is it possible to make posts with that, or do I have to pay to be able to post?

I found this site: http://forum.androidcentral.com/ in addition to XDA. It's not as nicely laid out, but it serves the same purpose.

What phone do you have? I'm worried to put CM7 on my phone because I heard they had a few bugs and such, but I do have a custom ROM that I'm using now that's holding my battery a little better than the LG stock ROM which was so badly written!

I have the Droid X. CM7 just came out for it, and it's in beta, but it's apparently the fastest ROM available for the DX. From what I've heard CM7 is a favorite among the phone hackers because it's fast, has good features, and is efficient in battery usage. Go to the forums on CyanogenMod's website and see what people have to say about your device.

I paid. It was worth the $2.
