I'm sure my kids will have their phones out. There's also a 50/50 chance my son beats the guy up.

Microsoft office products. Everyone has agreed to give them lots of money for lots of years... and it still is such a pain in the ass to produce high quality graphics. I'm not even talking about the issues with trying to switch between a file created on a Mac and a PC. Just adding a caption below a graph makes it look like you're using crayon to draw on the Mona Lisa.

Yeah, I know, First World problems, but it's been awhile since I've had to do presentation-quality work.

A variety of stuff. Word is good for text, Excel is good for graphs, etc. But things get wonky when you do multiple things. You can clean up graphs in excel (colors, width, etc) and adding axis titles things are acceptable. But when you try to add a title and caption below, none of the fonts/appearances match. In word when you insert pictures (jpegs) you have to have the image cropped in Paint or PowerPoint otherwise there is extra spacing. And colleagues need to work with files in jpeg, pdf, other formats, and any problems with the microsoft office files get amplified in the file conversion.

Haven't tried Tableau.... R does a pretty good job and is free, you just have to learn the coding. Microsoft products are so ubiquitous (unfortunately) that when I hear about other software, I need to be reassured that they do a good job converting to jpegs, pdfs, and other formats.

I love excel for charts, but mostly just throw them in a pdf. If i need a caption other then an axis title I will just add it as text to the actual powerpoint

Safety inspectors on job sites who bust everyone's balls about little safety issues. He gets very riled up about such things, yet speeds through parking lots, doesn't wear his hard hat, and doesn't get someone to clear week old snow from the egress of a building under construction. Our cell phones playing music at low volumes is a no no. Ice mountains at possible fire exits is ok, because, well because he's a giant fat fuck who has to justify his job, but doesn't want to do his end of keeping workers safe.
