Pretty much lol. I love being about to walk in after work and just cast my Pandora to the TV and play music while I make to dinner.

Speaking of which, does anyone have a recommendation for a sound bar?

I have a LG soundbar, and it's not the greatest. If you have the space for a better sound system, then I would go with that.

Otherwise, I read Sonos or something like that sells good sound bars. Little pricey I believe.

I don't think 3D tech is going to catch on. FiOS also has apps like Pandora, Twitter, Facebook, Weather Channel built into the box. And I have a ChromeCast.

It'll be more of a movie/gaming thing, I think. Broadcast TV is already getting away from 3D - ESPN is ending their 3D TV broadcast or they have already.

I think Chromecast-ish technology is the wave of the future. I love my Chromecast.

No, because they are worthless. Why not spend an additional $10 and get a real sound system?

Because you don't have to run wires with a sound bar. Ease of installation.

A legit wireless speaker system is pretty pricey.

    That.

And because I live in an apartment that isn't really conducive to a real sound system.

A newcomer is joining the television graveyard, next to cathode ray displays and rabbit ear antennas: plasma TVs. Plasma displays have excellent picture quality and were the defending champs throughout the 2000s as LCDs evolved. But the screens consume significantly more power than LCDs or today’s LEDs. Panasonic stopped manufacturing plasma TVs last year, and now Samsung says it won't make the displays after this year, either.

Then save all your money and don't get anything.

I picked up a 39" Samsung LED 1080P for $299 at BestBuy a few weeks back. Added a Chromecast. All I needed.

I think the sound system is 50% of the enjoyment for me.
Was quite a bit of work, but worth it IMO.

    Yar.
I put in a theatre in man cave. Really was never into sound, but had a coworker "sell" me on it.
Not cheap, but really adds to the experience I guess.
